Biography

Manny is a native born Californian, raised in his early years on the east side of Los Angeles.

His first boating experience came at the age of 12, when he and a friend, also 12, built a 12-foot sailboat out of plywood and 2-by-4s. His friend's father offered to take them to a lake for their maiden voyage, where it promptly sank.

Manny’s education included high school in Los Angeles and a couple of semesters of sales and marketing at East Los Angeles Jr. College.

The next few years, he had several small ski boats and he was engaged in racing and skiing in Lake Havasu and the Colorado River. At age 20, he piloted an 18-foot power cat in the San Pedro to Catalina Ski Race, where he placed 3rd in the event.

Manny’s other passion is motorcycles, and after 20 years in the home furnishing industry, he started a retail full-service motorcycle dealership, where he sold and serviced Harley Davidson, Indian, and Victory motorcycles at three locations for 27 years.

It was during these years that he bought his first powerboat, a 30-foot Carver Santego, and he was hooked. He had discovered a new lifestyle and an adventure that he could share with his family for the next 24 years.

Those years saw three more 39- to 45-foot motoryachts shared with his wife and four children, and eventually his grandchildren. He had found a wonderful escape from the everyday stress and pressure of the business world he had created. Manny actually lived on two of these vessels for almost nine years.

Manny considers himself a full-service broker, and having owned, operated, and even lived on his yacht, he is happy to share his knowledge and experience with his clients. If it can happen on a boat, he has experienced it and will be available to share these events long after the sale is completed.

The first few weeks for a new boater can sometimes be challenging, but with your broker just a phone call away, 24/7, these questions are easily dealt with. Manny will instruct a new boater in the use of all the systems on the boat, and of course, how to operate, maneuver, and park your new vessel. As for the services necessary after the purchase, after many years of owning and selling motor yachts, he will be happy to connect you with the right people to perform these services. Manny also has placed many boats in local marinas and has relationships that can assist you in your search for a slip.

Manny's promise: "I will work hard to find you exactly the right boat at the best possible price."
