48 Hudson Power Catamaran Walkthrough Video

April 3, 2017 11:49 am

This particular Hudson has found a new home, but this walkthrough offers you an idea of the general layout and overall features of this type of boat. Join us as we take a look at this 48′ catamaran:

Hi, my name is Dan Sammis. I’m a yacht broker with Denison Yacht Sales, and today I’m going to take you on a tour of the latest power cat from the North American market, the Hudson 48.

The first thing that you notice is a sleek and very attractive profile of the yacht. With design, exterior styling and naval architecture by world-renowned Bill Dixon Yacht Design and interior styling by Joe Munford, the combined effect is a yacht that is not only a real head turner out on the water but also a yacht that is very inviting for friends and family to enjoy.

Twin swim platforms and boarding gates make stepping onboard easy from the water, a low floating dock or even a higher fixed dock. The teak aft deck is wide with generous seating and storage as well as easy access to the engine spaces underneath. And an attractive teak table is ideal for lounging or casual dining al fresco.

Access to the flybridge is on the port side. Let’s go have a look. Her flybridge has a convertible Bimini top and partial eisinglass enclosure. Optionally, you can have a hardtop and even air conditioning if you desire. The large dining table with folding leaves is the centerpiece of the flybridge. When expanded, it accommodates dining for 12 or more guests.

On the port side is a generous sunbed with an adjustable backrest. On the starboard side is your flybridge galley complete with propane grill, sink, ice maker and storage.

And all the way forward is your helm station that provides excellent 360-degree visibility. At the helm you have your EMR electronic engine controls and monitors as well as Raymarine autopilot navigation displays. The system is very simple to use with touchscreen features, and it’s easily customized by the user.

Making your way around the decks on Hudson 48 is safe and comfortable. As we move forward to the bow, we come to a seating area that is the perfect vantage point while underway. You also have several storage lockers up here for lines and fenders.

Now let’s go ahead and step inside. This expansive interior arrangement is complemented by rich walnut woodwork, natural stone features and light soft goods. The galley on the port side is open and keeps you engaged with your guests while offering plenty of space to cook and prepare meals. This is a very convenient location for serving at the salon dining table to starboard or the aft deck table.

The salon TV is perfectly placed on the port side, and with the push of a button can easily be concealed. Each section of the salon flows well together, allowing your guests to stay connected. This Hudson 48 offers a full wet bar forward, which is great for entertaining. Other options for this space include a full lower helm station or a combination wet bar with an abbreviated helm.

Let’s head down the starboard companionway and check out the first of three staterooms. These staterooms are designed so that light can filter in from all directions, even from above. Each stateroom is ensuite, and as you can see here the VIP offers a convenient vanity.

We’re now back in the salon heading down the portside companionway. This guest stateroom has side-by-side berths, good storage space and a hanging locker. Rather than the typical placement of all staterooms down in the relatively narrow hulls, this Bill Dixon design features an incredible on-deck full-beam master suite.

The port side has a generous dressing area, vanity and walk-in closet. And as we make our way to the starboard side, you’ll notice a flat-screen TV, more storage and the entrance to your master head. The master head has an interior window with blinds, which maintains this open flow and spacious feel.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to go through the Hudson 48 with me. If you have any questions about the boat, want to take a closer look or even schedule a demo, feel free to contact me anytime.
