Beneteau Market Report 2017

September 25, 2017 9:12 am

Denison Yachting has been investigating the market for used Beneteau yachts. Some say that there are only two happy days in the life of a boat owner: when you buy a boat and when you sell it. At Denison, we pledge to make these two days easy and quick, but most importantly that the days you spend on the water are the most memorable ones.

In 2017 the average sales cycle for a Beneteau was 9 months at an average price of $200,000. The sale cycle seems to be a little quicker for sailboats, at 265 days, compared to 274 days for powerboats. This is mostly due to the European market, where the demand for sailing yachts is much higher. The size plays an important role in the resale – yachts under 45′ tend to sell quicker than yachts over 45′, in 253 days on average compared to 342 days.

The best regions to sell such yachts are of course California and Florida, closely followed by New York Texas, and Washington. The North American market saw more brokerage sale this year than the European market by more than 30%. The best models for a quick resale in 2017 were the Gran Turismo 50, the Swift Trawler 50 and the Oceanis 50. When well maintained and priced right, these yachts can sell within 3 months.
