Jace's story begins in the rugged beauty of the Colorado Rockies and the Black Hills of South Dakota, where the mountains were home. But it was the lyrics of Jimmy Buffett—painting vivid pictures of life on and around the sea—that ignited a longing for something more. After attending every Buffett concert within reach and dreaming of ocean adventures, Jace knew he had to experience that life firsthand.
Following four years pursuing a business degree at the University of South Dakota, Jace set off for the West Coast, landing in Marina del Rey, California. It was there that he purchased his first boat—a 25’ Coronado sailboat he named Crunchy Granola Suite. With his loyal dog Tasha by his side, Jace taught himself to sail, and on his first attempt, he and Tasha set off for Catalina Island. That single voyage changed everything. From that moment, life on the water became more than a dream—it was his new reality.
Jace spent the next two years living aboard his sailboat, exploring the ocean, and embracing the adventures of life at sea. While the arrival of twins, Saana and Kalle, shifted his course, Jace’s passion for the yachting lifestyle never wavered. He transformed his love of the water into a career as a yacht broker, allowing him to share that passion with others while helping them realize their own dreams of life on the sea.
Now, with over 25 years of experience in the yachting industry, Jace has built an impressive career. He has participated in over 30 new-build motor yacht projects, visited international shipyards across the globe, and facilitated countless brokerage transactions ranging from 55’ to 185’. His dedication to his craft has earned him the trust and friendship of clients and colleagues alike, many of whom have become lifelong connections.
When he’s not helping clients navigate the yacht buying or selling process, Jace enjoys paddleboarding through Jupiter, Florida’s endless waterways or returning to his roots in the mountains to ski and hike with friends and family. With Saana and Kalle now college graduates and his youngest son, Saku, studying in Finland, Jace continues to find joy in living his dream and helping others achieve theirs.
“This is a business built on relationships and trust,” Jace says. “Not just with clients, but with the entire yachting community. It’s what makes this career so rewarding—meeting fascinating people, sharing the same passions that brought me to Marina del Rey all those years ago, and helping them embark on their own unique journeys on the water.”
