Denison Yachting is excited to announce the first Excess catamaran is now on the West Coast. The XCS12, who made her debut last year, was delivered to San Diego and is now available for sale. The XCS12 recently was crowned 2020 Multihull Of The Year for the under 40′ category.
The first Excess 12 was set to arrive in San Diego California on April 22, 2020. One slight problem, San Diego Bay was closed down to recreational boating due to the Coronavirus. A few phone calls were made to local authorities and Denison’s delivery crew was given permission to receive the boat from the ship and go directly to the yard. Denison broker Kurt Jerman arrived at the ship to prepare and ready the Excess 12 for launch.
“Other than a bit of salt and grim from 6 weeks on the ocean, the boat looked fabulous! It was less than 30 minutes and we were ready for the longshoremen to rig up the crane and slowly set her in the water. The support boat, with excited crew, was along side and ready to unhook her and make the short trek up the bay to the local yard for final commissioning and hopefully a West Coast unveiling (sailing) party soon!“
The 2020 Excess 12 features twin helm stations aft and measures 38′. Hull #8 is now commissioned in San Diego, and is a unique cruising catamaran that provides real sailing sensations.
