Today, we came to the bayous of Mississippi, just across the Louisiana border to bring you this Cajun Classic behind me – COME MONDAY. I’m Will Noftsinger with Denison Yachting. Welcome to Mississippi.

This is an 82 foot Breaux Bay. These boats are built in New Iberia Louisiana and they’re built for one purpose, to get people to where they need to go safely and securely. The first thing that sticks out to me is this boat’s beam. It’s a full 22 feet and it feels large everywhere as a result. We’ll touch on that and our creature comforts today as we get started on the upper aft deck where the beam is going to become apparent immediately.

We’re beginning today’s tour here on what’s probably the most used portion of this boat and my favorite part, the upper aft deck. This is more than just a relaxing kick your feet up in chill space. It’s huge and perfect for all kinds of activities. And it’s also home to a massive davit allowing you to carry whatever toys best suit your needs.

Believe it or not, it was pretty cold here in Mississippi today and this climate-controlled environment inside the wheelhouse makes things pretty nice. Beautiful teak and holly flooring highlighted by a compass rose inlaid at the center. Located aft is seating for planning the next day’s route and keeping the captain company while on the voyage. This aft table also converts to a berth. In the starboard aft corner, we have a good sized refrigerator with a small freezer on top. And on the port is a hutch with TV and storage below.

Here at the helm, you’re surrounded by three 16-inch Simrad Evo2 monitors. Add to this a powerful hydraulic bow thruster and a comprehensive array of cameras that display exactly what’s going on around the entire ship at all times. To enhance your docking simplicity, there’s a controller you can plug in multiple ports throughout the boat making things that much easier.

Heading down the staircase to starboard, we’re going to hit the salon next. Here in the south hospitality and comfort are paramount. I don’t think I’ve ever been aboard a boat that gives me a more at-home feeling where I can just kick back and relax. And getting off the grid is a pleasure. Here, we’re treated by a light millwork package of maples and burled accents. The nearly all freestanding furniture will allow you to customize this area for easily making it your own. Another great aspect of the salon is this automatic door. New gray white wash floors have been installed throughout and you’ll take note of those as we transition into the formal dining area. This glass tabletop can seat all 8 guests comfortably. To port is storage for all your cutlery and stemware. Located forward into starboard, a dayhead.

Laminate floors give way to real teak and holly that bring us into the thoughtfully laid out galley. You know you’re in a kitchen designed by somebody from Louisiana who’s serious about cooking. Just look around at all the high caliber Viking appliances. These include a cooktop, full oven, dishwasher and trash compactor. This is complemented by a full GE fridge and a microwave to starboard.

All the way forward is a pantry, large enough to stockpile for an apocalypse. This space features its own access door right outside for easy provisioning. Heading out of the galley, down a flight of stairs brings us to the guest accommodation.

We’ll start forward in the V-berth. There’s sleeping for two here with storage below. Just aft is a full cedarline closet. As we continue after port there’s a full dayhead with walk-in shower. Continuing aft down the companionway into starboard is a full walk-in laundry room. As we keep moving aft and head to the port we come to the VIP. This room’s outfitted with a queen size berth with full walkarounds on either side. Just forward is a TV with storage below, cedarline closet and a full ensuite head. Again continuing aft into starboard, we come to a bunk room. This is perfect for children, has 3 bunk beds with plenty of storage around. Last on our stop and all the way aft is a full beam master stateroom. This room features a queen berth located centerline. To starboard we have his and hers closets. Forward to port is a TV with desk below. And then all the way to port, we have a full ensuite with walk-in shower stall.

Let’s head back upstairs into the starboard side deck so we can check out the bow. Up here is a comfortable seating area and just forward all your ground tackle complete with windlass. As we’re walking back I’m going to make a quick note at how wide these decks are and how tall these gunnels come up. It makes it super secure and extra safe every time you’re underway. Let’s head down the port side to the aft deck.

Welcome to the aft deck this is where all of your wonderful most memorable moments when you’re dining aboard are going to take place. Forward to port is an Eskimo ice chipper that dumps into this huge box. To starboard is a mirror image with storage and above a TV so you can check out the game. As we walk down here from the aft deck, this is the cockpit. It’s probably one of the most undervalued portions of this boat, any boat. This is an incredibly versatile space that kind of acts like your garage. If you want to wash down your paddle boards or get ready to go diving, this is the space to do it. To port is a refrigerated box and a starboard is a huge lazarette for excellent storage. This also gives you access to all your rudder posts and running gear.

Located at the center on the stern is a grill for all your grilling needs. Access to the swim platform can be found to port and starboard. Located centerline is a Hurley davit H3O system. This allows for easy storage of tenders. From here we’re going to walk back into the cockpit and find a centerline watertight door located forward that takes us down to the engine room. As you walk in the engine room it’s obvious immediately that this was built for an owner operator. There’s easy access around your 3412 CATs and around your Northern Lights generators. Located in port and starboard forward. Centerline forward is your water maker. It’s important to note that these original motors only carry 550 hours. This reliable engine package coupled with the ruggedness of a Bro Bay hull is what makes this yacht so special. It’s flat out seaworthy and built to withstand the test of time.

That wraps up our tour today on COME MONDAY. I appreciate you taking the time to join us here in southwest Mississippi. If you’d like to check this boat out in person and experience some serious southern hospitality, feel free to contact me anytime, and you can find me on Instagram @yachtslinger.
