Biography

Tom Robertson grew up on Long Island, New York, where he spent most of his time at the beach or on the water cruising the south shore. His love for the ocean inspired Tom’s career choices. Growing up surfing and being on the beach all of the time, it was only right to become an Ocean Rescue Lifeguard in Westhampton Beach. During the decade of lifeguarding in the summers, Tom was also a physical education teacher for the final five years of his tenure on the beach.   Tom had a constant itch to travel, starting in his teen years. Teaching and lifeguarding were not fulfilling that desire, which is when he left it all behind and got into the yachting world as a deckhand. Climbing the ranks to mate and engineer on yachts ranging from 112 to 180 feet, he logged thousands of nautical miles visiting countless countries. Tom learned the ins and outs of yachting while working as a mate and engineer aboard superyachts. He saw an opportunity to educate yacht buyers and grow personally by becoming a yacht broker. With his experience working around yacht brokers, Denison became his clear choice of where he wanted to land when pursuing the next chapter of life.
