I wanted to take the time to send you a quick note to let you know how happy I was with my first ever large boat purchase thanks to the help of one of your outstanding employees.  I was in Fort Myers visiting family in mid-April when I first contacted Denison and was lucky enough to get put in contact with Jack Graefe. After meeting him for the first time, I knew I was in good hands. He was so knowledgeable and so helpful throughout the entire process. This being my first large purchase I had tons of question which equated into numerous emails and calls to Jack. He was always there night or day with an answer or some sound advice. It was a big investment and a little scary but Jack coached me through it with ease. After looking at and making offers on a few boats we found a diamond of a boat right here in Maryland where I live. Jack pushed really hard to close the deal based on the guideline we discussed, he would not back down which lead to us closing the deal within two weeks of making the offer. The deal closed on May 15th. I couldn’t be happier with my new purchase and for the help of Jack Graefe and Denison Yachts.

I have been in sales for over 30 years and I know firsthand, it’s guys like Jack that make a difference in your business.

Cheers to you, your company and Jack Graefe, the guy that made the difference for me.

As professor and consultant of Business Administration I always saw people taking their time to complain and almost never to praise. So, this is a different letter: I am writing it to praise one of the brokers of your organization, Mr. Peter Quintal. Indeed, saying "praise" is an understatement, I should rather say "highly praise."

We met Mr. Quintal a few months ago when we were looking for a bigger boat; our boat at that time was a 340 Sundancer. We saw Denison's ad about a 420 Sundancer and called Peter to set an appointment to see her. And here we had a first (positive) surprise: he returned our call in a few minutes and set an appointment with us for the next day. At this point I have to clarify that we have had several contacts with many other brokers, where we did not find the same level of attention and professionalism. When we went to see the boat, it was visible that Peter was there some time before because everything was made simple for us; no need to wait for the canvases be removed, air conditioned to be set up, etc., etc. Then, after giving us concise but a complete set of information about the boat, Mr. Quintal left us at ease to explore the boat by ourselves and exchange our points of view between us. After the visit, we ended up with a very good impression of the boat, not just because of the boat herself, but about the whole showing experience provided us by Mr. Quintal.

Then, during the next couple of weeks we saw other boats, larger and smaller, express cruisers and motor yachts, and decided for the Sundancer 420. I had some doubts about the engines so I called Peter and asked him to see the boat again. Then, he se another appointment without hesitation or demonstration of boredom that I have seen elsewhere. And then, a few days later my wife asked him to see the boat again to clarify some doubts she had about cabin arrangements. And again, Peter showed us the boat patiently and professionally.

Then came the negotiation, inspection and closing process in which Peter played main role, making these boring and sometimes tense situations very smooth. He even helped me to find the surveyors and worked efficiently with the seller to fix the inspection points.

And, here comes a very interesting part of my letter. Now we had two boats: my new Sundancer 420 and my old Sundancer 340 that I planned to sell by myself. However, seeing Peter's work I decided to pass him the task. And it was a very good idea. Peter again showed his exceptional broker capability and we sold the boat in 30 days for a very decent price. I was impressed how smoothly he conducted the negotiation process regarding the price and the inspection points. At no point, did I feel forced to agree wit impositions, "terror tricks" that I have many times in negotiation process.

I would like to thank you for your attention and to congratulate you for having hired such an exceptional yacht broker like Mr. Quintal.

Yet another GREAT experience with your firm.  As per previous, Wiley Sharp, one of your associates in St Thomas produced the ad and the expertise to sell our Lagoon 400.   While Wiley handled the paperwork and dealing with the Buyer’s Broker to complete the sale, he was able to rely on another one of your associates in Ft Lauderdale to handle the physical aspects of the closing.  Michael Ebeling met us at the marina when we arrived in Ft Lauderdale from Puerto Rico.  Mike not only suggested several local restaurants within walking distance of the marina, he turned us on to qualified shops to fix the last few details prior to sale.  He was on the boat when it was hauled and then with us on the Sea Trials with the Buyer.  It is my understanding that he went on AFTER the sale and helped the new Owner find a qualified Skipper and even helped him move the boat to another haulout for bottom paint and some minor repairs.  A complete job.

BUT, that is just the start.  See, we wanted to go “back” to power boats and that is Mike’s specialty.  We gave Mike our parameters and our budget and he started producing boats that fell within both.  With his contacts, it only took a couple of days for us to narrow it down to three models.  Mike found one of each model nearby while we were still in Florida.  A brief tour of each of the three and we both decided on the Carver Voyager 530.  Again, Mike with his additional sources came up with every 530 for sale in the US and here is where it gets interesting.  See, the one we chose was in California.  Long ways from Mike in Florida and a long ways for us from Alaska. While we were convinced it was the best one how do we make sure.  Again though, Mike was able to tap into your network of associates, finding several in California who were able to recommend the BEST surveyor, diesel mechanic, etc.  It was very comforting traveling from Alaska to California knowing we were able to rely on these professionals that had been recommended by your associates.  BIG help.  Of course, Mike traveled from Florida for the survey and subsequent negotiations to finalize the sale.  Oh yes, while Mike was not familiar with restaurants in that area, he did know who to ask and that worked out GREAT too:-)

Mike’s knowledge, additional sources and salesmanship made this whole process VERY smooth and reassuring.  We would recommend him highly to anyone looking to buy or to sell any kind of power boat.  We have no problem with you passing on our names and our contact information to anyone you think might benefit from this.  Mike did everything possible including traveling clear across the country to make this experience as trouble free as possible.  We love our new boat and thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Mike and your company.

I thought I should take a few minutes to let you know how pleased we both are with one of your associates.  I am 67 years old and have been boating since I was taught how to dock a boat at age 9.  During that time, I have dealt with many Yacht Brokers.  The experiences have been neither pleasant nor productive.  I did not contact Denison Yacht Sales.  Wiley Sharp contacted me.  I told him of my history with Yacht Brokers and my opinion of the group as a whole.  Why he didn’t just give up, I have no clue.  Obviously, he did finally convince me to list our Lagoon 400 with your firm.  What a GREAT experience.  It took him another three months and us finally deciding the Lagoon had to go before we started taking his advice seriously.  He told us, “Bring it to Florida and it will sell”.  We started West from Puerto Rico and he immediately changed the ad to read that the boat was on it’s way to Ft Lauderdale.   As we approached Florida, we got an offer which, after some further negotiating by Wiley, we accepted.

Wiley’s knowledge of sailboats and catamarans specifically was a BIG help.  He took the time to help us find a marina in Florida and put us in contact with the few people we needed to effect repairs on our boat before sale. His response time on any request was great.  We would recommend him highly to anyone trying to sell their current boat or buy another boat.  Please do not hesitate to pass on our name and contact information to anyone in that market.

Here is the truly neat part.  While Wiley was in St Thomas and did handle all of the paperwork to complete the sale, since the sale took place in Ft Lauderdale, Wiley turned us on to another one of your associates who lives in Ft Lauderdale who completed the physical part of the actual closing.  Mike Ebeling met us on arrival in Ft Lauderdale, handled the survey, the surveyor and the Buyer for us.  This ability of one associate to rely on another associate within your system was nice for us and great for your organization.  BIG help
