4 EVER: A Long-Range Power Catamaran Built to Go Further

There are plenty of power catamarans built around space. 4 EVER adds something harder to find: genuine bluewater capability.

Built by French shipyard JFA Yachts and delivered as the first Long Island 78 Power, she was commissioned by an experienced catamaran owner looking to trade sails for engines without giving up the freedom to make serious passages. The result is a 23.7-meter yacht with an 11.2-meter beam, aluminium hulls, and the range to think well beyond the next marina.

That combination is what makes her worth a second look.

The Space of a Much Larger Yacht

With an 11.2-meter beam, 4 EVER delivers the kind of volume normally associated with a considerably larger yacht. The Long Island 78 Power’s twin-hull platform creates expansive interior and exterior living areas while delivering impressive stability.

The beam is immediately apparent inside. The main deck brings together the salon, dining area, galley and navigation station within a bright, open-plan space surrounded by large windows. Accommodation for eight guests is arranged across four staterooms, including a generous owner’s suite.

Outside, the salon flows directly into the expansive aft cockpit, while the flybridge provides another dedicated lounge and entertaining area. Forward, a private lounge with a seawater Jacuzzi creates yet another place to unwind, giving guests distinct outdoor spaces to enjoy throughout the day.

Built to Cross Oceans

JFA developed the Long Island 78 Power with naval architect Marc Lombard, putting weight and efficiency at the center of the project. Aluminium hull construction provides the strength expected for extended cruising, while careful weight management reduces the power required to move her efficiently through the water.

Twin 500-horsepower Cummins QSC 8.3M diesels give 4 EVER a 12-knot cruising speed and an 18-knot maximum speed. With 8,000 liters of fuel aboard, her economical range is approximately 3,000 nautical miles.

She carries twin generators, extensive navigation and communications equipment, watermaking capability, approximately 3.7 kW of solar panels and a hydraulic bathing platform, alongside the systems required for extended periods away from port.

Her 1.24-meter draft adds another advantage. The same yacht capable of making an ocean passage can get into anchorages that would be inaccessible to many conventional yachts approaching this volume.

A Proven French Pedigree

Based in Concarneau on the coast of Brittany, JFA Yachts has specialized in custom and semi-custom yacht construction since 1993, developing particular expertise in aluminium yachts and multihulls.

For 4 EVER, the shipyard joined forces with naval architect Marc Lombard, bringing together extensive experience in the development of long-range multihulls. That expertise is evident throughout the yacht, where efficiency and seaworthiness are balanced with the space and comfort expected from a luxury cruising platform.

Franck Darnet completed the interior design, combining contemporary finishes with the practicality required for spending significant periods aboard. The enclosed wheelhouse on the flybridge is another particularly distinctive feature, providing a dedicated and protected navigation space without compromising the yacht’s guest areas.

Built With Flexibility in Mind

Although operated privately since new, 4 EVER was built to the Small Commercial Yacht Code (MGN280). The code set standards across construction, stability, machinery, fire protection, lifesaving equipment and navigation.

For 4 EVER, commercial operation was considered as part of her original build specification, adding another layer of versatility for a future owner who may wish to explore commercial operation.
