Cheoy Lee Ship Yards, located in South China, has been building CL Yachts since 1870. Today they have over 150 years of yacht construction experience and commercial shipbuilding. CL North American offices are located in Fort Lauderdale since the 70's.
Tom Fexas, a world-renowned Yacht Architect designed this 81' like a ship. She was built... way ahead of her time with an incredibly stable ride, speed, and excellent open interior layout.
Sweet Melissa was born in Hong Kong under the English rule of shipbuilding. Everywhere you look on board you can see the quality of construction throughout this yacht. When the current seller was installing the marine flooring he had to take up the teak and holly sole. He told me that the flooring was first nailed into place then screwed into the decking and lastly, they glued in the decking. He was amazed at the lengths Choey Lee went to just lay in a flooring system.
The seller also stated that after two years of refitting SM, he now understands how solidly built his yacht is. This translates into quality and ride. She cuts through the seas like a knife, a very stable dry ride. My family loves cruising trips because she is so solid at sea. Seller states that she is built like a ship with modern luxury features.

Outside, all the old aluminum window frames have been removed, sanded, sealed, and repainted to eliminate the corrosion and leak problems that plagued Cheoy Lee and other yacht builders. The entire boat was painted with Allcraft paint which is considered to be the best.

The prior Salon, galley, day head, cabinetry, plumbing, furniture lighting, AC ducts, wall coverings, window coverings, flooring, and headliner were entirely removed for this massive REFIT. This total custom clean slate transformation refit began in 2019 and finished in 2020.
Enter the updated Salon from the aft deck through the polished stainless steel and safety glass sliding door.
To starboard, new electric leather couch, mounted flat-screen TV, farther down from the couch to starboard is a custom granite cabinet wet bar with new ice maker, new bar refrigerator, and wine cooler, following down past the circular staircase to the bridge is the modern updated day head.
To port, custom entertainment center and electric lighted modern fireplace all enclosed in a granite cabinet. Also in the entertainment cabinet is a 65' Televator TV, Intel NUC computer system, surround sound dual amp system to play music by remote home automation system throughout the entire yacht. This cabinet has so much technology in it that it has its own set of cooling fans built inside to keep everything running nice and cool.
Down from the entertainment center is a nice breakfast bar with bar stool seating. Huge granite (Cambria) matching countertops with custom cabinets. Across from the breakfast bar is the gourmet galley with all new GE Stainless "CAFE" commercial appliances, new cabinets with "soft close" dovetail drawer construction, new backsplashes, and plumbing fixtures. All new inside cabinet lighting, under cabinet lighting, and in the ceiling lighting. And Yes... This is a real gourmet galley with a gas burner stove and two ovens surrounded by tons of counter space for the true yachting chefs. Nicer than your kitchen at home!
Pilothouse helm is forward of the galley to port. Pilothouse doors are P&S. The lower helm spoils you with Two brand new matching helm STIDD Captains Chairs for the ultimate helm seating in luxury comfort. Updated helm station and brand new Garmin top of the line electronics still under warranty. Across from the helm station is a nice size new settee to keep the captain company. All of the soft goods are new in the pilot area as well.
This entire main deck has beautiful, all New marine Aqua Guard water-resistant wood decking flooring.
WOW, this brand new gourmet galley is nicer/bigger than your own kitchen at home. The galley boasts a huge granite separate Island Bar with bar stools and plenty of extra storage/prep areas. Lots of beautiful granite countertops everywhere for cooking/entertaining, triple wide SS sink makes clean up's a snap.
Custom backsplashes, "soft close" dovetail drawers, and cabinets (lighting inside) make this a showpiece for entertaining guests anywhere. The galley is surrounded by all new stainless CAFE commercial appliances and wood floors. Mood lighting and snappy dimming light fixtures finish the galley off to perfection.
The New Day Head has been completely redone inside and shows very modern. The Day head is located off to the starboard side behind the pilothouse. This half head is conveniently located between the salon and the pilothouse.
The pilothouse is located on the port side and has two P&S pilothouse doors. A nice new settee sits to the starboard and has all new soft goods and a matching granite countertop. The helm has been re-worked to handle the two huge NEW Garmin 8622 screens and 2 new Garmin digital monitors, two Garmin controllers as well as other new electronics. Visibility is very good from the helm with the extra-large windshield and side windows. Sitting in the two new STIDD Captains' chairs makes for very comfortable helm watches.
Access to the TWO TON AIR CONDITIONED flybridge is from an updated curving wood and a stainless stairway from the main salon plus second access with a ladder from the aft deck. This flybridge is covered by a fiberglass hardtop. On top of the hardtop are two Open Array 4' and 6' Doppler Open Raydomes, one ACR spotlight, and 2 hailers pointing to the bow and stern.
New full custom hard bridge Enclosure plus full enclosure bridge window sun covers. The bridge settee, custom new seating is wrap-around with storage compartments below and with a low maintenance fiberglass table. There is a walkthrough passage in the seating to the area aft, for the tender/davit storage, Wet bar, electric grill, and ULine refrigerator behind the settee on the upper deck as well.
The NEW 14' 9" Rigid Walker Bay tender and cover rest on the upper aft deck next to the 1,400lb capacity davit. The tender has a brand NEW Evinrude 75hp engine and a new Garmin Plotter, fuel gauge, and RPM gauge. All still under factory warranty. All of the nonskid paint has been recently refreshed.
At the helm is a brand new STIDD Captains' chair and a Pompanette companion helm chair. All brand NEW Garmin Electronics on the newly re-worked dash.
Entering the spiral staircase and down into a well-appointed foyer with adjoining staterooms entrances, the master is full beam with ample storage in the port side, walk-in closet, to starboard is a full vanity with opening mirrored top with 7 drawers, to port is a storage dresser and forward of the dresser is an upholstered settee, on the forward bulkhead is the in-cabinet entertainment center with new audiovisual equipment.
The berth is centerline king-size, custom Tempurpedic mattress and nightstands(one drawer and cabinet below in each), port and starboard mirrored above, headboard lights control accessible from either side of the bed. There is one opening port to starboard and two to port.
The entrance to the master head is to starboard aft, along the starboard side with shower in a glass enclosure and one opening port, on the aft bulkhead is a large vanity with sand beige and grey granite countertop and two black Kohler sinks with Imperial silver and gold faucet sets and hardware, above are two-door mirrored medicine cabinets, below in bronze metallic finish with maroon and the black accent is generous storage in cabinets below each sink and four drawers center, the commode is in black and is a freshwater Galley Maid.
Twin beds custom Tempurpedic mattresses port and starboard, designer fabric bedspreads matching drapes, valances, and new carpet, there are two burl storage drawers below each bed, a large hanging closet to port forward with cedar lining and full length mirrored door and one opening port. Headliners and vinyl fabric wall coverings are recent.
Aft and adjoining the stateroom is the head with stall shower and black Galley Maid head and a gold vanity to starboard with storage in cabinets and drawers capped with an Avonite counter and Kohler sink with gold and silver Imperial faucets and matching hardware and mirrored medicine cabinets above, flooring is in matching with counter in tile with pearl inlay, ceiling in Mitsubishi "A Look" with recessed lighting.
To port is a queen custom Tempurpedic mattresses and cherry nightstand, valances drapes and bedspread are in matching designer fabrics, there is a large hanging closet with full length mirrored door with gold hardware, adjacent is a cherry corner cabinet, recent carpet.
Forward and adjoining stateroom is the guest head full stall shower to starboard with full cherry wood vanity to port with Corian countertop and Kohler sink, silver, and gold Imperial faucet set and matching hardware, above are mirrored medicine cabinets, the flooring is granite with red and gold inlay, ceilings in Mitsubishi "A Look" with recessed lighting and ventilation fan, the Head is Galley Maid freshwater type.
The forward area could be used for crew or if owner-operated then for additional guests staterooms.
Forward and down is the crew's lounge with an L-shaped sofa and port and aft is a cherry desk with storage and cherry shelves above with TV, the centerline is the laundry room, and extra freezer. Brand new sideload Washer and Dryer room, wall, and ceiling coverings are recently updated with recessed lighting and new flooring.
To starboard is an over and under-bunk with custom Tempurpedic mattresses, designer matching bedspreads, recent carpeting, and vinyl wall and ceiling coverings with recessed lighting, storage is in cherry, corner cabinet and hanging closet with full length mirrored door. Most but not all of the vinyl fabric wall coverings have been replaced.
To starboard is a large vanity with storage below in cabinets and drawers capped with a Corian style countertop and Kohler sink with Imperial silver and gold faucet set and hardware. To port is a large stall shower, the flooring is marble the tile with inlay, the ceiling is Mitsubishi "A Look" with recessed lighting and ventilation fan.
Captain's cabin is the forward most cabin in the boat, there is a queen with custom Tempurpedic mattress to port and cherry cabinetry to starboard with a hanging locker and full length mirrored door, the walls and ceiling are all new vinyl with recessed lighting, the floor covering is new.
Captain's Head is adjoining to captain's cabin with large stall shower, vanity with storage below in cabinets and drawers capped with Corian style counter and Kohler sink with Imperial silver and gold faucet set and hardware. The floor is marble tile with inlay; the ceiling is in Mitsubishi "A Look" with recessed lighting and ventilation fans.
The Caterpillar 3412 engines show on the digital meters 2429hours.
The boat was built with full walk-around side decks for ease of boarding and line handling while docking. There are new cushions for the sun pad on the bow. The nonskid decks have had recent paint and the only teak is on the back deck that was replaced in February 2018.
The aft deck has boarding gates to both sides and a Marquipt Sea Stair for boarding. There is a molded-in stairway to the swim platform leading to a transom door into the engine room. The table is low maintenance fiberglass and there is a molded-in bench seat. All new cushions on the back deck and flybridge.
