Whirlaway II’s experienced owner and full-time Captain performed a major refit over a 5 month period in preparation for a 5-month passage from Seattle to Alaska and back to Seattle. Equipped with new State of the Art Garmin Electronics, plus engine, mechanical and accommodation upgrades, the yacht performed flawlessly and the trip was a great adventure with spectacular accommodations to view the amazing scenery going by, at up to 18 knots cruise.
This 82’ Burger is now available for the next owner to enjoy their own adventure, the refit (over $700,000.00 in late 2017 and 2018) has been done, so you can purchase and plan your dream adventure as the proud owner of your own yacht.
Be sure to check out the full specs, description details, drone video and narrated walk through. Visit the Burger Website to see how custom these vessels are. View below for a quote from the builder's site:
"For one to realize that Burger is a true custom builder is to look at the variety of yachts and commercial vessels that have been built since its founding in 1863. Working with in-house designer and engineers, as well as highly acclaimed designers from around the world, Burger continues to raise the bar in quality and innovation. Since 1863, Burger has been the foundation of the American Yachting experience and the oldest, most respected custom yacht builder in America, spanning more than 150 years."
Whirlaway II features the Classic Burger layout with a full walk-around deck which is a major plus for the cruising couple to handle lines and fenders. There is also added safety for guest and crew
Whirlaway II received major upgrades late 2017/early 2018 which included all new Garmin electronics on both stations, extensive upgrades to the twin Caterpillar 3412 C diesel engines (noted in Engine upgrade section). New Glendinning electric shifter/throttles on both stations
A new Glendinning Joystick docking system w/ built-in backup components have been added to both stations. This makes this 82' Burger a much more enjoyable experience to dock and an easier move up in yacht size for the yacht owner who is already used to running a joystick controlled vessel.
Whirlaway II living areas received new furniture, soft goods, 6 HD TVs, and new sound equipment. All 6 head systems were completely rebuilt.
Whirlaway II spent its first 16 years in freshwater and the winters inside a first-class heated Boatshed. The current owner purchased the yacht in turn key condition in 2017 but wanted the modern conveniences of first-class electronics, joystick control for docking ease and the vessel brought to Bristol Condition. All the work was supervised by the full-time Captain and crew.
Whirlaway II interior has Fiddleback Anigre paneling and woodwork that creates a warm and contemporary feel to the yacht
The salon, galley, and pilothouse have an artistic herringbone floor pattern of anigre and black ebony wood.
