The 2012 Cutwater C28 is a practical and efficient diesel cruiser designed for Pacific Northwest boating. Powered by a Yanmar 260 HP diesel with approximately 1,624 hours and equipped with a Yamaha F25 four-stroke kicker, this vessel offers economical cruising, easy handling, and comfortable accommodations for weekends or extended trips.
This vessel has been highly maintained and professionally serviced annually at Stones Boatyard. The current owners have taken pride in keeping the boat up to date and ready for the season.
The pilothouse layout provides excellent visibility from the helm and protection from the weather. Navigation equipment includes a Garmin GPSMAP 5212 chartplotter, Garmin radar, Garmin autopilot, Garmin VHF radio, and Yanmar engine monitoring. A remote autopilot control allows course adjustments from outside the helm, while bow and stern thrusters with a wireless remote make docking and close-quarters maneuvering simple and stress-free.
The salon features teak cabinetry, a convertible dinette, and large windows that provide plenty of natural light. The galley is equipped with a Nova Kool refrigerator, microwave, propane stove, stainless sink, and ample storage for provisions and cruising gear.
Forward accommodations include a V-berth and an enclosed wet head with a marine toilet, sink, and shower. Storage throughout the boat is well thought out and suitable for extended cruising.
Additional equipment includes a Webasto diesel heater, solar charging system, inverter, shore power, hot water system, bow and stern thrusters, Garmin radar, and a ProMariner smart battery charger.
With today's fuel prices, the Yanmar diesel is a significant advantage, offering excellent fuel economy and long cruising range compared to many gas-powered boats in this size range.
For anglers, the Cutwater C28 is also a surprisingly capable fishing platform. The cockpit layout, diesel efficiency, and stable ride make it well suited for trolling, salmon fishing, and spending long days on the water. Not every cruiser fishes well, but the C28 has developed a loyal following among owners who enjoy both cruising and fishing.
