From Powerboat Guide
Winner of Boating magazine Boat of the Year Award for 2016, the Regal 29 OBX is the largest bowrider to date with twin outboard power. Sterndrives dominated the runabout market for many years but today’s outboards—quieter, odor-free and boasting superior power-to-weight ratios—offer not just better performance, but improved serviceability and ease of use as well. A wraparound swim platform makes swimming and diving easy, and the aft cockpit seats of the 29 OBX can be retracted at the push of a button to make cockpit access easier. With no engine compartment, Regal engineers included a huge stowage compartment under
the slide-away seats. Forward of the aft benches on each side of the cockpit are lounge seats, and both the double helm seat and double companion seat include flip-up bolsters. An enclosed head is concealed in the portside console. Up front, the bow features a wide walk-thru to a versatile seating layout with a full-length lounge to port and a shorter one to starboard. Built on Regal’s FasTrac double-stepped hull and powered by two lightweight Yamaha F200 outboards, the 29 OBX will reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 45 knots.
