Aspen Reinvents Multihulls for a Wide Range of Speed

Speed is a factor in boating, there is no denying it. Many of us ask the question about a new boat we encounter, “How fast will she go?” While top speed is sometimes important when running from a storm, or if you need to get somewhere rapidly, fuel efficiency and performance when coupled with speed are often far more significant. The right combination of speed, and economy gets us to our destination safely and efficiently providing the fastest path to enjoyment.

Fast and Fun Cruising  

Having a range of speed at your disposal adds to the experience of cruising. Our experienced team at Aspen understands that it’s not all about go-fast boats with roaring engines. Instead, it is about finding a comfortable speed that gets you and your crew where you need to go safely and comfortably, and if it happens to be a whole lot of fun, so much the better.

An Aspen is efficient across the entire range of speed. With our patented power proa hull, Aspens don’t plane, the hulls displace water. This means that they can be smoothly operated at any RPM as there is no hole to push out of. Aspens accelerate smoothly and evenly from idle up to top speed. They also do not have much of a speed penalty. Faster speeds are attained at reasonable gallons per hour burn rates and result in good miles per gallon performance, especially when compared to other vessels in their size range or that have comparable accommodations.

The new 32′ C100 Escape has a similar cabin, salon, and interior components as our C90 Cruiser, but the hull and deck are 4′ longer in the cockpit ideal for fishing and entertaining, this area also includes several standard features that are not available in the C90. It has a built-in 96 qt. Igloo Cooler with a large seat, huge port and starboard lazarette storage, as well as a 2nd refrigerator and sink. The Volvo D3 220 hp is mounted just aft of the salon bulkhead which reduces noise levels. This, combined with over the top use of premium sound deadening, makes the C100 exceptionally quiet underway. Engine access is via a 2′ x 4′ day hatch, as well as a huge 4′ x 6′ removable deck section.

The C100 hull is also special, its extra 4′ of length adds more than 2,200lb. of buoyancy. Additionally, the hulls are 2″ deeper by design. The combination lifts the bridge deck 4″, proportionally adding dramatically more travel in the boats suspension system for large sea passage making. C100 owners are set to make weeks long adventure trips, island to island, or up vast open coastlines with speed comfort and efficiency.

Aspen is a semi-custom boat manufacturer that tailors your boat to your specifications depending on how you envision using it, the process is as follows – We have limited production slots for both our smaller and bigger boat lines. When a build slot is secured, a HIN is allocated to your name in our forecasted production schedule. Reserving a slot requires a 10% deposit which extends to progress payments on the commencement of the build, funding the build stages at specific milestones of production: lamination start, lamination end, and deck set/final assembly, with a $10,000 holdback due at delivery. The delivery day is a close date for when your insurance transfers to your ownership.
