Broker Comments

This is a strong and powerful boat. Only three were built. The thick aluminum hull is built to power through 9 inches of solid ice while keeping passengers warm and dry in the cabinhouse with 360 degree views. At cruising speed of 18 to 27 mph, boat uses about 10 gallons of diesel fuel per engine per hour. Fuel tank holds 350+ gallons. At 20 mph, the range is 320+ miles for approximately 17.5 hours.

Owner Comments

Spring 2019: I am storing the boat in the water in New Buffalo. It will be available for inspection in the slip. Engines work perfectly. The new Gen set is a Northern Lights 10.5 Kw, and puts out scads of power, the idea was to be able to run all the electric at one time-with power to spare- as the boat has electric heating as well as engine cooling heat in all spaces, in addition of course the reverse cycle AC/heat. In addition it will run the engine heaters and keep the whole boat really warm in really cold conditions, while powering the microwave, coffee maker, TV, and electric heat. And there is an engine cooling system heater(just like your car) that is independent of the other heating systems. I checked all electronics and everything is working perfectly.

I figured that since the boat was advertised by Whaler for North Sea and Arctic conditions, a winter in NB won't hurt it. I know from experience (before I had it painted) that it will go through 6-8 inches of ice no problem …. do it a lot though and you will have to repaint the bottom however.
