**I was on board LIONS SHADE in September of 2019 and took new photographs of her in the water and very much in commission-- she looked exceptionally good.**

LIONS SHADE is a well-found example of the typically high standard of the Finnish boatbuilding paradigm. Her below deck arrangement includes the most popular aft cabin layout with a centerline queen-sized berth with the head compartment and stall shower in opposite forward corners.

Forward the Galley is ahead of the Dinette, but uniquely a hanging locker  and long counter with lockers beneath and outboard are fore and aft aligned to Starboard; a second toploading refrigerated ice box is at the forward end before the forward head compartment.

LIONS SHADE has a powerful sail plan with a Sail Pak, fully battened Main & Mizzen Sail. Batt Cars on the Main and Harken furlers for the head sails make it all easy to handle.

The detail of the Full LISTING describes and dates the many improvements made over the years;some Highlights: 2001 NEW Teak Decks and Barrier cpoating of bottom, 2008 NEW Standing Rigging, 2010 NEW Chartplotter/  Radar/ Log, Depth, Wind, 2015 New pilothouse upholstery, etc.,,,

Owner would like to hear offers.

Accomodations

LION's SHADE has a generous Owner's cabin aft with the most popular arrangement; a Centerline, queen-sized berth. There are 6 opening portlights and 2 fixed portlights for light and ventilation. In the Port forward corner is the head compartment with toilet and sink and lockers; a stall shower with teak seat and tiled floor is in the corresponding corner to Starboard, each has an opening portlight. There is a hanging locker and many other lockers for storage. There are 8, triple dogged, opening Portlights in the Owner's cabin.

Up 2 steps and forward is the Pilothouse which is notable and characteristic of all Nauticats in design where one has level sightlines, seated or standing from all perspectives. Visibility is a critical, safety issue when conning a vessel from the Pilothouse helm; rare is the pilothouse boatbuilder who has accomplished this. The helm is Centerline with large chart table to Port and lots of chart storage beneath it..Electronics are sited here and instrumentation is arrayed in the eyebrow above. An L-shaped, converting settee is in the aft Port corner and a single settee opposite to Starboard.

There are Opening Pilothouse doors, Port & Starboard, a large Sliding hatch overhead and 2 opening portlights aft; plenty of light & ventilation.

Down 2 steps and forward is the main saloon with a large U-shaped berth and teak dinette table arranged to Port. Opposite is a large hanging locker and a fore aft arranged counter and lockers running down the Starboard side. at the forward end of this counter is a refrigerated ice box. Unlike other Nauticat 44s there are 6 NEW (2014)opening Portlights in the saloon/galley forward head area in addition to overhead hatches and dorades

Next forward is a U-shaped galley to Port opposite the forward, head compartment

Top-loading Icebox to Port w/ Adler Barbour refrigeration/freezer and a 2nd Top-loading Icebox to Starboard with NEW (2010) Isotherm refrigeration A gimballed, 3 burner, propane, stove/oven--NEW 2015. Microwave. A double S/S sink w/ hot & cold pressure water. Lockers and drawers are abundant for pots, pans, utensils and dry stores.

All the way forward is a V-berthed forward cabin. There is a large, overhead hatch w/.storage beneath the berths and outboard Port & Starboard. A filler converts the berth to a double
