45' Bayliner 1989

This is a one-of-a-kind 4588.

Boatshed kept since 1992. Repowered with 310 Hp Hino diesel engines, with only 158 hours. When the Hinos were installed, new marine Hurth/ZF transmissions, new shafts, propellers, shaft seals and electronic controls were also installed. At the same time, a new 12.6 kW Westerbeke generator was installed and has less than 100 hrs. These upgrades would cost well over $250,000 to do today and provide a level of mechanical soundness unavailable in most 4588s on the coast.

The 4588 is a well-loved design because of its fantastic layout. Each level is accessed by just a few stairs. The cockpit, salon and galley are all on the same level, making it a very social space. Down three stairs and you are on the cabin level with a guest head, a guest cabin, an owner's cabin, and a bunk cabin. From the salon, up three steps, and you are in the pilothouse with the lower helm station, side doors, and settee, making a great space to hang out while underway. Up three stairs and you’re on the command bridge. With a full bimini and upper helm station, the command bridge is the perfect place to whale watch and experience our beautiful coast on a sunny day.

This is the perfect spot for fair-weather cruising, providing breathtaking views and plenty of space for guests to relax. Just aft of the sitting area is where the tender is stored with an electric crane to get it up and down and keep it conveniently stored when not needed.

Machinery

Main Engines: Twin 310 HP Hino WO6DTA diesel engines (new 2006, 158 hours) provide dependable power and excellent fuel economy. With two 250-gallon aluminum tanks there is lots of fuel for longer voyages.

Dual Racor water-separating filters for both engines (four total) ensure clean fuel.

Generator: The auxiliary Westerbeke 12.6 KW diesel generator (67 hours) ensures comfort and power at anchor.

 Auxiliary Equipment:

The entire drivetrain was replaced in 2006 with new components.

Propulsion: The engines are coupled with Hurth ZF 80A transmissions (1.6:1 ratio) turning 20" x 21" 4-blade bronze propellers through 1.5" stainless steel shafts.

Steering: A reliable Hynautic hydraulic steering system provides smooth and responsive control from both helm stations.

Trim Tabs: Bennett trim tabs allow for fine-tuning of the vessel's running attitude, optimizing performance and fuel efficiency under various load conditions.

Electrical Systems

Charging & Batteries: The vessel is equipped with multiple charging sources. Two main engine alternators and the generator alternator. As well a Pro Mariner 60-amp battery charger maintains all batteries when connected to shore power, and there is a Noco Genius 3500 to provide additional charging when needed. The system includes two 8D batteries for engine starting and a dedicated SLA 12-33 battery for the generator.

Generator: For off-grid power, a reliable Westerbeck 12.6 KW diesel generator (new 2005 with under 100 hrs) provides ample 120V AC electricity to run all household appliances, air conditioning, and battery chargers independently of shore power.

Electrical Protection: The AC and DC systems are managed through dedicated breaker panels with overcurrent protection. The shore power system includes reverse polarity indicators for safety, and the systems are dielectrically separated to prevent galvanic corrosion.

Domestic Equipment

This yacht is equipped to offer the comforts of home while on the water.

Galley: The well-appointed galley has lots of room for folks to be working together. Features a Princess 3-burner electric stove with an oven and a Whirlpool microwave, making meal preparation a breeze. A large Norcold refrigerator/freezer operates on both AC and DC power.

Heating & Hot Water: For comfort in any climate, the vessel is equipped with a Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning/Heating system. Dual 11-gallon water heaters are supplied by both 110V shore power/generator and the port engine's heat exchanger, ensuring ample hot water after a day of cruising.

Heads: The vessel features upgraded Tecma marine heads with a freshwater flush system for ease of use and odour control. Tecma is considered one of the best choices for reliability, performance and a lack of maintenance issues. New sanitation hoses were added during the upgrade. A 48-gallon holding tank with dockside pump-out capability manages waste.

Electronics And Ground Tackle

Navigation Suite: The lower helm features a Raytheon R10 radar and a JRC J-Nav 500 GPS. A Lowrance HDS-7 chartplotter/sounder provides detailed charting and depth information.
