2002 Sea Ray 460 Sundancer — Immaculate Freshwater Luxury Sport Yacht
One of the cleanest and best-maintained luxury sport yachts on the market today, this exceptional 2002 Sea Ray 460 Sundancer reflects genuine pride of ownership throughout.
A two-owner freshwater yacht, she has been enjoyed by her current owners for 18 seasons and has been stored indoors in heated facilities every winter since new. Lightly used, continuously upgraded and maintained proactively, she is truly turn-key, with no deferred maintenance and all systems currently operating normally.
Why the 2002 model year stands out
The 2002 model occupies a desirable “sweet spot” in the Sea Ray 460 Sundancer’s production run. According to the owner’s Sea Ray engineering documentation, later-production boats—including this example—were constructed without balsa coring in the hullsides, using woven Divinycell coring instead. Through-hulls and transducers are installed in solid fiberglass areas rather than cored sections.
It was also the final 460 Sundancer model year powered by the highly mechanically regarded Cummins 6CTA diesels. This fully optioned example was specifically selected for its model year, construction and dependable power package.
Annual moisture readings have been taken during winter storage and have consistently remained below 10%.
Ownership and freshwater history
Originally purchased in Michigan, the yacht spent eight years at Algonac Harbour Club. She was imported and full registered with Transport Canada in 2016.
She has always been a freshwater boat and has never spent a winter outdoors.
Performance and machinery
Twin Cummins 6CTA mechanical diesel engines have approximately 960 hours. Engine maintenance includes annual semi-synthetic oil changes, annual oil-analysis reports and periodic service by Cummins-certified technicians. Impellers are replaced proactively every two to three seasons.
The engine room is exceptionally clean, and the bilge is dry.
Machinery and mechanical equipment
Premium Raymarine electronics
The extensive electronics suite was professionally installed by St. Clair Boating Center between 2021 and 2025. All equipment is fully operational.
Cockpit, deck and exterior
Hull and finish
The hull bottom was professionally stripped by Colony Marine, protected with two coats of epoxy and finished with Speedkote non-ablative bottom paint. The bottom remains in excellent condition and is particularly well suited to freshwater use.
The topsides received Starke Graphene protection in 2024, followed by the hullsides in 2025. The swim platform’s non-skid areas received an additional aluminum-ceramic coating. These premium treatments provide an attractive finish while making the yacht easier to wash and maintain.
Interior and entertainment
The optional maple interior creates a bright, welcoming atmosphere and distinguishes this yacht from darker-interior examples.
Notable upgrades and advantages
For the discerning buyer
This is not an average 460 Sundancer. It is a carefully selected, thoughtfully upgraded and fastidiously maintained freshwater yacht that demonstrates pride of ownership in every area.
For buyers seeking a premium Sea Ray 460 Sundancer with the right model year, proven mechanical power, exceptional electronics and a documented history of proactive care, this yacht deserves serious consideration.
