Davis's attention to detail goes beyond where the eye can see, and that ensures that the 48 Express is at the forefront of high tech, yet utilizes proven boat-building techniques. This 20-ton vessel features a solid glass bottom, Divinycell-cored hull sides, Nidacore decks and bulkheads, and a hull-to-deck joint that is screwed, epoxied and fiberglassed to withstand anything the ocean can throw at her. The Davis tunnel technology is now available on all Buddy Davis models. On the 48, for example, the draft is reduced to 3'2". If you plan on fishing and cruising where every of inch of water beneath you counts, the shallow draft of the 48 is tough to beat. Furthermore, by recessing the props into the hull, the wheels are better protected from an accidental grounding. In addition, the rudders are less exposed with the tunnels, reducing the risk of damage.
