THE FIRST PALMER JOHNSON PJ50 OPEN SPORT
HULL NO. 1 - A NEW CHAPTER IN THE PALMER JOHNSON LEGACY
An extraordinary opportunity to acquire the very first Palmer Johnson PJ50 Open Sport ever built.
Hull No. 1 represents the debut of Palmer Johnson's new 50-foot Open Sport and the newest expression of a design philosophy developed by one of the world's most recognized performance yacht builders.
This is not simply another new-build opportunity. This is the first PJ50 in existence the yacht that introduces the model to the world.
The yacht is currently in the final phase of completion. Her carbon-composite structure, hull and deck, exterior finish and paintwork, interior joinery and principal accommodation spaces have already been constructed and finished. The remaining program centers primarily on final propulsion installation, navigation and electronics, selected onboard systems, commissioning, testing and sea trials.
Importantly, the engines, principal navigation/electronics package and associated final systems are planned to be installed and commissioned in the United States, providing the future owner with a yacht whose critical operating equipment is completed with the U.S. market, serviceability and future support in mind.
SUPERYACHT DNA — REIMAGINED AT 50 FEET
The PJ50 carries forward the unmistakable DNA of Palmer Johnson's larger performance yachts: dramatic proportions, sculpted surfaces, an exceptionally fine bow and advanced lightweight construction.
Palmer Johnson describes the PJ50 as utilizing its advanced tri-hull technology, developed for increased efficiency, stability and ride comfort. Its slender central hull and stabilizing outer sections allow the yacht to combine an extraordinary 18-foot beam with the performance characteristics expected from the Open Sport series. Palmer Johnson's earlier PJ50 material emphasizes the fine bow entry, enhanced stability, level ride characteristics and expansive deck arrangement created by this architecture.
Construction is centered around carbon composite, bringing technology normally associated with considerably larger performance yachts into a remarkably manageable platform. The current Palmer Johnson specification identifies both the hull and deck as carbon composite and rates maximum speed at 45+ knots with Mercury Verado V10 outboard power.
At approximately 53'10" overall including the outboards, with a 49'3" hull length and an exceptional 18'1" beam, the PJ50 delivers proportions rarely found in a yacht of this length.
DESIGNED AROUND THE WATER
The extraordinary beam is put to immediate use on deck.
Rather than creating the narrow side decks and confined cockpit typical of many high-performance boats in this size range, Palmer Johnson has created a broad, open social environment with deep lounge seating, sunbathing areas, a central circulation path and substantial entertaining space beneath the carbon hardtop.
The result feels less like a conventional 50-foot dayboat and more like the open deck of a significantly larger yacht.
Below deck, the PJ50 continues that philosophy with a full-beam salon/galley arrangement, convertible sleeping accommodation and a separate head with shower. Contemporary forms, warm finishes and indirect lighting give the interior a sophisticated but relaxed character suited equally to day cruising, weekends aboard or use as an exceptional superyacht chase boat.
PERFORMANCE & TECHNOLOGY
The current completion program calls for quad Mercury Verado V10 425 hp outboards, delivering a combined 1,700 hp, together with joystick functionality. The current Palmer Johnson sales specification targets a maximum speed exceeding 45 knots.
The completion program also provides for a modern navigation and helm package including large multifunction displays, GPS/chartplotting, radar and associated navigation equipment. Final propulsion, navigation/electronics integration, commissioning and sea trials form part of the remaining completion phase.
The PJ50 concept also incorporates a lithium battery system and solar generation, allowing onboard systems to operate with reduced reliance on conventional generator use. Palmer Johnson's original PJ50 presentation describes a 20 kWh lithium battery pack and 12 kWh solar power system, together with its carbon construction and metallic exterior finish.
HULL NO. 1 — THE FIRST OF ITS KIND
There is particular significance in owning the first yacht of a new Palmer Johnson series.
The PJ63 Open Sport established the formula: advanced lightweight construction, distinctive Palmer Johnson styling, expansive exterior living and performance-yacht engineering in a yacht designed to be enjoyed personally rather than operated like a traditional large yacht. Palmer Johnson describes the Open Sport philosophy as bringing the knowledge, quality and character of its larger yachts into a more accessible, owner-oriented platform.
The PJ50 takes that philosophy another step.
For the collector, Palmer Johnson enthusiast or owner seeking something genuinely different from the increasingly similar production dayboats on today's market, this yacht presents an opportunity that cannot be replicated: the first PJ50 Open Sport ever constructed and the first example of this new Palmer Johnson model to become available.

A PALMER JOHNSON, WITHOUT COMPROMISE
Founded in 1918, Palmer Johnson built its reputation by repeatedly challenging conventional yacht design—from performance sailing yachts and groundbreaking aluminum construction to some of the world's most recognizable carbon performance yachts. The PJ50 continues that tradition in a new format. Palmer Johnson's own history describes more than a century of innovation and boundary-pushing yacht design.
The first PJ50 is not simply another 50-foot performance yacht entering the market. It is the beginning of a new Palmer Johnson model and an opportunity to own Hull No. 1.
