KAT is a custom-built expedition sailing yacht of 23.96 m, launched in Itajaí, Brazil, in 2014 and refitted in 2021 and 2024. Designed by Nestor Volker, with naval architecture by Nestor Volker and Ricardo Marcelo Rinaldi, she combines an H32 naval steel hull with a 316L stainless-steel superstructure. Her hydraulic lifting keel reduces the draft from 5.20 m to 2.20 m.

Built for long-range cruising, KAT has completed two circumnavigations: the Expedição Oriente (2014-2016) and the Voice of the Oceans programme (2021-2025), with the same captain and crew throughout.

Twin 150 HP Volvo Penta D3 engines (new in 2021) give a cruising speed of 7 to 8 knots and a range of approximately 2,000 NM, rising to 2,800 NM at 5.5 knots on one engine. She carries 4,100 litres of fuel and 3,200 litres of fresh water, with a 200 l/h watermaker.

Below deck, KAT accommodates up to 10 guests in four cabins, with two crew cabins for four crew members, three heads with showers, 64,000 BTU air conditioning and full thermal insulation suited to tropical and sub-polar climates. The saloon has two areas, including a large dining table seating ten.

The cockpit accommodates more than 15 people around two folding tables, with twin helm stations. A 4.30 m Nautiflex RIB tender with a 40 HP Yamaha outboard is carried on hydraulic stern davits.
