Ocean Xplorer Global Yacht Description

Global exploration on an ocean-proven rugged offshore vessel with redundant systems, ocean-crossing range and weeks of endurance away from ports. This 100-meter conversion will match performance with any shipyard in the world and equal, or surpass an owner's expectations. Diesel-electric CAT engines drive Rolls-Royce azipods. The conversion will be delivered on time and at a budget that other builders can not match. This shipyard will issue a warranty on their work, and offers crew training and a scheduled service program that includes remote satellite-monitoring of all ship systems, regardless of where you roam on the planet. For the ultimate in ocean exploration, this is an option that must be considered.

This is truly a timeless yacht. The exterior styling and interior design options will create a look that is unique, unlike anything else.

A relaxed comfortable interior can be achieved with a rich blend of textures and natural materials to create a resort-like feel. An elevated Owner’s stateroom offers restricted access to ensure privacy. An optional split- level arrangement, with reserved areas for the owner on the raised upper decks is available. The owner’s office with  raised ceilings, skylights and full glass sliding doors provide access to the large balconies. The result is a spectacular and inspiring workspace that extends seamlessly with the exterior decks and casual seating.

The open-air feeling can be achieved with fully opening side windows and folding balconies. The Upper Deck aft with its expansive informal dining and food buffet is a centre for all living on a daily basis.

A glass elevator shaft and a central atrium is another available feature.

Fitness and wellbeing are also major considerations for the yacht. On the Lower Deck is a wellness area specifically designed to be in a quiet and relaxed part of the vessel with the addition of a Beauty Salon and massage treatment room.

Watersports are aplenty with multiple watercraft housed in a dedicated garage that connects to a lazarette with all watersports equipment well stored and located. The space leads out onto the swim platform which can be lowered to create a landing dock for water sports equipment yet still allows tenders to dock without interference.

The helicopter touch-and-go pad, hidden crane and Jacuzzi areas on the sundeck, will be well executed.

Financing and lease-purchase available to qualified buyers.

Electronics And Dynamic Positioning Dp2

Marine Technologies Bridge Mate DP System (DP 2)

Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning The Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning (DP) concept is based on a distributed architecture that emphasizes both redundancy and segregation philosophies. The robust design is important on vessels where a service and system specialist is not at hand 24 hours a day, every day. In addition to distributed operator stations and DP control computers, the Bridge Mate system has distributed thruster and sensor interface units based on a stand-alone IO unit specially designed for use on DP vessels. The distributed architecture reduces the cable installation considerably. Each interface unit can be placed close to the thrusters, the reference systems and the sensors to be interfaced. The design of the interface unit makes the Bridge Mate system well suited for retrofit and upgrading within all equipment classes.

Bridge Mate DP 2 System A DP 2 system is composed of the same modules as a DP 1 system, but the number of modules have been increased for redundancy in order to comply with Class 2 rules. A DP 2 system will use three control computers and, typically, two operator stations. Using three control computers makes it possible to perform majority voting between the computers, and to reject a computer should it fail. The number of IO units is typically much higher on a DP 2 system, as there will be a dedicated IO unit for each set of sensors, each position reference system, power source and each thruster. This configuration is used to provide redundancy at all levels to make sure that any single failure will not result in loss of position. The compact design and distributed architecture makes the system well suited for retrofit. Upgrading from a DP 1 to a DP 2 system is an easy process since the same hardware modules are used for both types of systems, only different in the number of units used. Figure 2 shows a typical DP 2 configuration, where all the modules are connected via a redundant, dual network.

Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System

The Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System (IBS) concept is based on segregated architecture comprising a dual redundant network, flexible console and monitor solutions, and extremely durable marine-approved computers without fans or hard disks. The Bridge Mate IBS is designed to optimize the human-machine interface, taking into account that different information is required depending on the type of operation at hand. All applications, such as ARPA radar, ECDIS, conning, ICAS, cameras, sensor control and monitoring, etc., are readily available on any Multi-Function Workstation (MFW), giving the operator unique redundancy and flexibility. As an option, Marine Technologies (MT) offers secure satellite communication solutions for remote diagnostic and monitoring of IBSfunctions, enhancing operations and enabling more cost efficient system maintenance. MT has targeted the offshore market, but the Bridge Mate IBS is adaptable to the requirements of all sea-going ship types. It is designed to meet all International Maritime Organization (IMO) and classification societies' requirements, all the way up to one-man bridge operation.

Operator Benefits
  • Smart route planning
  • One-man bridge operation
  • Track control system and automatic route keeping
  • Custom integration with other systems
  • High grade of application redundancy
  • Sensor redundancy and redundant network ensuring data integrity and reliability
  • Increased safety of operation
  • Online ordering of charts, chart corrections and weather forecasts via ship communication
  • Touch screen - ease of operation

The Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System is designed for easy operation to allow maximum time for observation and decision making. This is particularly apparent in the MT ARPA radar and ECDIS systems. These systems have the same intuitive user interface, panel layout and menu system. Route plans, charts, radar video and sensor information are shared throughout the Bridge Mate IBS.

Multi-Function Workstation

All navigational data is available on all MFW stations, including:

  • Heading control system
  • Chart maintenance
  • Route management
  • Conning display with track information
  • ECDIS with ARPA radar overlay
