Additional Information

The 31 Bertram is a classic and iconic 31-foot sportfishing boat, known for its groundbreaking deep-V hull design by Ray Hunt and durable fiberglass construction. Introduced in 1961, it was designed to perform exceptionally well in rough seas and has been widely used for sport fishing, cruising, and government work. Many of these boats are still in service today.

  • Design and Performance: The revolutionary deep-V hull, with a 24-degree deadrise, allows the boat to cut through waves, providing a smooth and stable ride even in challenging waters.
  • Construction: The boat is constructed from durable fiberglass, a material that was new to the boating industry at the time, offering high strength and corrosion resistance.
  • Versatility: The 31 Bertram is suitable for many purposes, including sportfishing, leisure cruising, and even some official duties.
  • Legacy: More than 1,800 of these boats were produced over its 25-year production run, and many are still in use globally, with some being restored for continued service.
