Morris Yachts are built in Bass Harbor, Maine. The hull is infused fiberglass using vinylester resin with coring material. This hull is Awlcraft painted Morris Green with a white boot stripe and a gold leaf cove accent stripe just below the sheer line. The deck is a single fiberglass composite part with coring. This deck is fitted with full glued/fastened teak decking bow to stern. There is also teak decking on the cockpit sole as well as on the cockpit seats and hatches.
A strikingly handsome interior in Nat Herreshoff style carrying white bulkheads with varnished mahogany trim over a beautiful teak & holly sole withy satin finish. There are varnished mahogany chainplate boxes and hull sheeting, plus the electrical panel is trimmed in mahogany. Two 6-foot-long settee/berths are cushioned in beige seats and backrests. Plenty of natural lighting through the mahogany trimmed deckhouse windows, the clear sliding hatchway cover and there are also wall mounted 12V wall mounted chrome reading lamps. There is an insert in the sole for the varnished mahogany table. This table is generally stored in a felt lined pouch. The table can also be used with the insert in the cockpit sole. Ventilation is available through the two adjustable dorade box vents on the forward cabin ceiling. Beneath & behind the backs of the settees are good sized storage areas and between the tops of the settees and the hull sides are nice recessed shelf areas for books or knick-knacks. To starboard is the primary unit for the VHF radio and the stereo with the speakers flush mounted on the chainplate boxes.
V-Berth
The optional forward v-berth is open to the salon area and trimmed in varnished mahogany. The v-berth hull linings are also finished in mahogany with a white bulkhead forward. Wall mounted reading lights on either side of the aft bulkhead and the berth cushions match the same items in the main cabin. Overhead is a large Bomar Voyager deck hatch (replaced 2020) with multiple dogs and a rollout blackout shade/screen.
The engine is accessed from the inside of the cabin behind the steps down to the cabin sole. The steps raise up on a hinge and has gas shock assist pistons to hold up the steps. There are also removable side access panels that can be reached from the storage lazarettes beneath the cockpit bench seats. A fire suppression port is located in the head compartment.
The Yanmar 3-cylinder, 4 stroke diesel with a SD20 saildrive and a 16-inch bronze Flex-O-Fold mechanical folding prop has approximately 824 original hours. There is a Yanmar 4230B fuel/water separator, a primary fuel filter, and an inboard raw water sea strainer.
Morris custom instrument panel at the helm, includes Faria gauges with SS bezels, ignition switch, start button, stop button, preheat switch, panel light switch, tachometer, oil pressure gauge, temperature gauge and audible alarms for low engine oil pressure and high engine coolant temperature.
Shore power inlet is through a 30-amp X 50-foot cord with the inlet plug in the cockpit beneath the helm seat. There is a Mastervolt Chargemaster 12/35-3 battery charger (new 2022). There is 1 AGM engine start battery and 2 AGM house batteries (new 2025). There is also a Renogy 50-Watt flexible solar panel with controller to trickle charge the batteries when shore power is not available. (new 2019)
