CHAMPAGNE is a 1989 Hatteras 74 Cockpit Motor Yacht located in Seabrook, Texas. She is a fiberglass twin-diesel aft-cockpit flybridge motor yacht with a lower pilothouse helm, upper flybridge helm, and aft cockpit control station. Her arrangement offers excellent liveaboard comfort, extended cruising capability, and confident docking control.

Delivered new as a 74 with the full Hatteras of Lauderdale cockpit, CHAMPAGNE offers utility few motor yachts in this class can match, along with generous tankage: 1,921 gallons of fuel, 600 gallons of water, and 215 gallons of holding.

Accommodations include a full-beam owner's suite aft, two additional guest staterooms, and forward crew/guest quarters with a private head and shower — four heads in total. This layout provides excellent flexibility for owner operation, extended family cruising, guests, or crew.

CHAMPAGNE is powered by twin Detroit Diesel 12V92TI engines rated at 700 HP each. Both engines were completely overhauled in 2018 and show under 500 hours since overhaul — 389 port and 460 starboard as of July 2026. The surveyor noted that the engines "show like much newer motors with no leaks noted," a statement that speaks directly to their presentation and care. Each engine is served by triple Racor fuel/water separators.

The engine room itself is one of CHAMPAGNE's standout features — freshly repainted in 2026, with the engine room and bilges presenting spotless and dry throughout. Additional machinery includes ZF transmissions, PYI dripless shaft seals, 3" stainless shafts, and twin 5-blade bronze propellers. The props were balanced and treated with Propspeed in 2026, and matching spare props are aboard.

The main saloon is located aft of the galley and offers a warm, comfortable gathering space with rich joinery and updated finishes along with full Veloce-Nano Ceramic tint (all windows 2023). A flat-screen TV rises on an actuator lift, and the dining table expands to seat six to eight guests. A full-sized walk-in cedar-lined closet, abundant built-in drawer storage on both sides, and opening portlights with custom shades & lamps complete the space.

Owner's Head

The private owner's en-suite head has been fully rebuilt in 2026 to a stunning standard as a custom remodel matching the galley's craftsmanship, finished in the classic Herreshoff style — crisp white paired with varnished mahogany. The walk-in porcelain shower features a frameless glass sliding door with brass hardware and a hex-tile shower pan, complemented by herringbone-laid marble flooring throughout. Solid custom mahogany cabinetry with a mahogany countertop, a mahogany-trimmed mirror, Perrin & Rowe natural brass fixtures, and a Sherle Wagoner hand-painted custom ceramic sink complete the space. The head system is freshwater flush.

The amidship queen guest stateroom is located to port and offers comfortable guest accommodations with warm teak interior finishes. A head and shower are located to starboard, providing convenient comfort for guests.

CHAMPAGNE is equipped with four heads total, including 24V Raritan electric-flush heads. All heads have been converted to freshwater flush — a significant upgrade from the saltwater systems Hatteras originally delivered, reducing odor, scale, and maintenance. All waste lines were replaced, and the plumbing was noted as reinforced and in sound condition. The vessel features separate walk-in shower stalls throughout.

The lower pilothouse helm features bench seating, storage, Hynautic hydraulic steering, analog and digital engine gauges, Meretraon Tank Monitor, Garmin GHC20 autopilot, Garmin 7612xsv chartplotter and Glendinning electronic engine controls added in 2024.

This station provides excellent visibility, protected operation, and direct access to the vessel's main control systems.

The upper flybridge includes a second full helm station with Garmin GPS, autopilot,VHF radios, bow and stern thruster controls, stabilizer controls, compass, dual captain's chairs, a Jatoba wood table, Wetbar w/ sink, refrigerator, Quartzite counter tops, built-in storage, three-sided enclosures, guest seating, and a Bimini top. Aft of the bridge is dinghy storage served by a Marquipt 1500 davit.

CHAMPAGNE is equipped with a full Garmin electronics suite including four Garmin 7612XSV chartplotters, Garmin GHC20 autopilot and radar at both helm stations, depth finder/sonar, and two VHF radios. A Maretron tank monitoring system provides real-time levels for fuel, fresh water, and black water. The electronics are powered through a Newmar 24V-to-12V DC converter.

CHAMPAGNE is equipped with 240V/50A shore power using dual cords with electric retractors, along with a 24V DC house system. All lighting throughout the vessel is 24V LED and dimmable. Most of the electrical system has been updated with new marine-grade stranded wiring, and the surveyor found the accessible wiring to be in excellent condition.

Additional electrical equipment includes Victron chargers and dedicated AGM battery banks for the bow thruster, stern thruster, and generators, all updated in 2024. Batteries are installed in secured, covered boxes.

The original generators were replaced with new Phasor diesel generators in 2017/2018 — replaced, not rebuilt. As of July 2026, they show 887 and 838 hours respectively, adding another major layer of confidence for buyers evaluating CHAMPAGNE's mechanical condition.

Mechanical equipment includes Naiad roll stabilizers, Vetus bow and stern thrusters, Glendinning electronic engine controls, Hynautic hydraulic steering, and seven Cruisair reverse-cycle air-conditioning units.

The larger A/C units are newer, with an upsized pump, larger intake and larger lines for improved flow. The vessel is also equipped with a freshwater system, 120V pressure pump, and Rheem 30-gallon water heater.

The raised aft deck opens from the saloon and provides an excellent entertaining and transition space. The vessel's third control station is located here to port, with Glendinning engine controls and bow and stern thruster controls for confident short-handed docking. Steps lead down to the cockpit, allowing easy movement between the interior, aft deck, and cockpit.

The full aft cockpit is a defining feature of CHAMPAGNE's design, completed by Hatteras of Lauderdale as part of her original delivery. Served by the adjacent aft docking station, the cockpit makes short-handed docking and close-quarters maneuvering significantly easier.

CHAMPAGNE features fiberglass/plywood sandwich decks with sprayed non-skid. The decks were reported as sound throughout, with cosmetics above average for age. The bow lounge area includes anchor windlass controls, and the teak railing presents in beautiful condition.

CHAMPAGNE has a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a prop-protecting keel, Classic Hatteras Off-White hull color, and black trim stripes. Her hull finish is painted/gelcoat, and cosmetics are above average.

The independent survey found the bottom blister-free, with fresh active antifouling. All original thru-hulls have been replaced. Recent yard work includes haul-out, hull wax, fresh bottom paint, prop balancing for the main and spare propellers, and Propspeed application (2026).
