CYNANTHUS is a stunning example of a late model Hinckley Talaria 29 Runabout that has been cared for by a very experienced yachtsman and serviced by Hinckley in the Hinckley Jetboat Service Package program since new. She was built with the upgraded Volvo 435hp common rail engine giving her a top speed of almost 35 knots.  Her current owner has used her summers in Maine and has stored her inside a heated building each winter where she has had all of her annual service completed as well as continuous upgrades.

In recent years some of her more significant upgrades include:

• New house battery (2025)
• New dual Racor fuel filter system and new fuel lines (2024)
• New fresh water pump (2024)
• New exterior cushions (2024)
• New cockpit boarding ladder (2023)
• New helm seats with covers
• New Bimini/Navy Top with removable front, side and aft curtains (2022)

Construction:  

• Hull is DualGuard® Composite construction Kevlar® E-glass skin with balsa and Corecell® core carbon fiber inner skin, SCRIMP® with vinylester resin.  
• Deck and cockpit are E-glass with balsa and Corecell® core, SCRIMP® molded with vinylester resin.  
• Deck has a molded-in nonskid pattern.
• Stainless steel half-round on fiberglass molded rub rail.
• Marelon® ball-valve seacocks.
• Hinckley designed heavy-duty fiberglass swim platform - has teak insert treads, stainless steel mounting brackets and half round rub rail. Telescoping, stainless steel, 3-step folding swim ladder stores under swim platform.
• Custom stainless steel handrail painted to match the hull mounted vertically on transom.

DECK:

• Self-draining forward anchor locker with flush hatch and electric windlass.
• Rounded, tapered, varnished teak toe rail with Hinckley profile.
• Custom 316L stainless steel Hinckley bow chocks.
• Stainless steel pop-up mooring cleats.
• Fishing rod holders mounted on port and starboard side decks at transom
• Folding stainless steel Wischard padeyes for fenders

COCKPIT: 

• Wrap-around 3-window curved windshield with tempered glass and teak trim and cap.
• Port and starboard forward windshield wipers with washers.
• Ample storage in removable tubs under settees and in flush cockpit sole locker with hatch.
• Rupp rod racks on port and starboard under gunwale
• Ivory Stamoid Bimini with removable front, side and back drop curtains (2022)
• Ivory Stamoid full cockpit “mooring” cover.
• Ivory Stamoid covers for side and front windshields

Layout  Overview:

This runabout has a forward cuddy cabin with sliding molded door accessed from companionway between the helm and navigator seats.  Next, aft of the helm area is a cushioned L-shaped seating lounge area to port that seats four.  The teak covered engine box top with built-in sink and insulated cooler is convenient to both the aft and forward seating areas.  A cushioned aft facing settee is molded in the stern end of the engine box. Aft, a full-width forward-facing cushioned settee is at the transom.  

CUDDY CABIN:

Through the forward sliding companionway door is a small cuddy cabin finished in satin-varnished cherry with white acoustic overhead.

• Opening overhead hatch with removable screen provides plenty of ventilation and natural airflow.
• V-berth with filler for V-berth to create full width berth (storage for filler under berth)
• V-berth sides are sheathed in varnished cherry wood.
• Varnished cherry trim.
• Vacuflush 12-volt marine toilet  - plumbed to a 10-gallon holding tank with deck pump-out
• (2) Frigast 12-volt stainless steel lights - port and starboard.
• Electrical breaker panel.

ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM:

• Clarion CMD5 CD/Stereo receiver with satellite ready radio.  
• Clarion remote control - is mounted at the helm
• (4) MB Quart marine speakers.

FORWARD COCKPIT: 

Forward is the Helm Area with matching helm seats (new seats 2022)

• Custom pods port and starboard
• Flush watertight cockpit sole hatch between chairs offers additional storage as well as access to systems below deck
• (2) Cup holders outboard to port
• (2) Marine stereo speakers port and starboard, outboard below each shelf

Lounge Area is just aft from the helm area with an L-shaped inboard and forward-facing curved settee with a varnished teak shelf cap.  

• Settee cushions are upholstered in Blue Ultraleather with White Ultraleather piping (cushions new 2024).
• Two removable storage tubs under bottom cushions with access to systems below when removed.
• Removable table by port settee.  Table folds in half diagonally for easy passage forward or opens for larger table within reach of helm seat when rotated aft

MID-COCKPIT:

The varnished teak top covered engine box has an electric-lift access to the engine area.   

• Top-opening access to a sink and faucet with pressurized freshwater.
• Top-opening access to an insulated cooler with drain.
• Aft-facing cushioned seating for two on the aft end of engine box.
• Varnished teak louvered access door for storage space under sink

AFT COCKPIT:

• Full-width, forward-facing aft settee cushioned seating at transom upholstered in Blue Ultraleather with White Ultraleather piping (2024).
• Removable storage tubs under aft settee cushions with access to jet drive and systems below when removed.
• Freshwater shower is located under transom seat.
• White courtesy lighting aft under port and starboard coamings with a switch at helm station.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:

• (1) 12-Volt AGM Group 31 – 750 MCCA start battery (new 2021)
