Caliber hulls are built for outstanding resistance to collisions, with extra layers of solid fiberglass at potential impact points. In case of damage to the bow or rudder, a Watertight Collision Bulkhead and Rudder Dam are designed to minimize flooding. When rough water makes most sailors miserable, a Caliber owner can cruise in comfort. And with confidence.
In heavy seas, the Caliber moves more steadily due to her high ballast-to-displacement ratio. The cockpit is well appointed and set up for short-handed sailing. The helm is comfortable offering 360 visibility and features an innovative steering pedestal with access to instruments and bow thruster controls. In addition, other instrument displays are mounted over the companionway for easy viewing from anywhere in the cockpit.
Deck stowage space is a rare commodity on many center-cockpit boats. It is abundant on the Caliber 47. Two deck lockers forward and two aft can accommodate large items. In addition a sizable anchor well at the bow features separate tackle compartments for two anchors. The extra strong anchor platform simplifies anchor handling. A swim ladder and boarding platform built into the transom make it easy to board a dinghy or take a swim.

CENTER COCKPIT cruisers offer the considerable advantages of extra space below decks.
The Caliber 47LRC sports 2 cabins/2 heads both with separate showers. The aft OWNER'S STATEROOM, well separated from the main salon, features a centerline queen with walk thru access from the Galley and the Owner’s head via the Nav station. The aft Owner’s stateroom features cedar-lined hanging lockers and lots of storage.
The GUEST STATEROOM and en-suite head are located forward of the main salon. Instead of a confining V-berth forward, there's a generous offset pullman berth to port with lots of easily accessible storage. Both the forward and aft cabin feature roomy heads with separate shower stalls. The midship/ Owner's head features a Raritan electric flush head. There is a Raritan manual head in the forward guest cabin en suite head.
The MAIN SALON takes full advantage of the 6- 6” headroom and a wide beam to provide an expansive living area. The L shaped Settee is located to port complimented by 2 captain's chairs to starboard. The bulkhead-mounted dining table folds up for even more floor space.
Any cook will appreciate the large, efficient GALLEY located to port. The galley is well appointed with a deep double sink with Seagull water filtration, a microwave, three-burner Force 10 LPG stove/oven, a Frigoboat Keel cooled 4.3 cubic. ft. front loading AND top loading refrigerator box, and a separate a 3.5 cubic ft freezer. There is ample storage for food, and provisions and a beautiful blue Corian counter that is 10 feet long!
The dedicated forward facing Navigator’s Station gives the navigator a better feel for the boat’s movement while charting courses. There is plenty of cabinet space to accommodate a full range of electronic navigation equipment. Plus, the working surface is large to make chart reading easier. Like in other areas of the 47LRC, storage is paramount. A navigator has room for all their tools, books, and charts.
