EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND MORE
If you're in search of a well-crafted, versatile cruising yacht with excellent handling and spacious living areas, this 2005 Hunter 44 Aft Cockpit is an exceptional choice. This sailboat is ideal for those seeking to embark on long journeys or spend weekends cruising in style and comfort. The 44 Aft Cockpit Cruiser shares the same performance hull with the 44 Deck Saloon, but comes in a lower profile. The boat was drawn by noted designer Glenn Henderson and sports some rather intricate features not usually found on cruising boats of this size.

Living aboard our Hunter 44 sailboat has been an adventure with the comforts of home for the 3 of us. We had decided to go sailing vs camping with our 14 year old before he heads to high school. We chose this boat for its 2 cabin 2 full head design. The aft cabin comes with a queen bed and enough head room to sit and read or watch movie on your iPad with the mount attachment on rainy days. We had our own head with shower while our son enjoyed the V-berth with its full size bed and head with shower. The galley and living space hosted up to 7 guests for game nights around the table. We purchased an additional portable fridge/freezer combo on top of the fridge and freezer in the galley which held enough frozen food for our entire trip through the Bahamas.
The outdoor deck space and cockpit made being outside and viewing the many sunrises, sunsets and overnight passages very comfortable. The front and side encloser kept us dryer and warmer while traveling down the east coast in all kinds of weather. Sailing Free Range is made simple with all lines routed into the cockpit. The head sail wraps around a rolling furl and the in-mast furling main make setting both sails and reefing when needed a breeze. The 5’ draft and 63’ mast meant we could travel down the ICW and fit just about anywhere in the Bahamas.
All these features have made the Hunter 44ac the perfect liveaboard and cruising boat for us, taking us from Connecticut to the Bahamas in comfort and safety. Free Range is the perfect opportunity for a home on the water with endless adventures.
