Grace Boat | 43' Nauticat 1985

Just returned from six months cruising Desolation Sound and the waters of British Columbia, "Grace" is the much sought after Sparkman & Stephens designed Nauticat 43 ketch, built to exacting standards by Siltala Yachts of Finland. Considered by many to be the ultimate motorsailer, the Nauticat 43 has a nice turn of speed under sail while still providing her crew with all the comforts and protection of an enclosed pilothouse.

Prior to departing from San Francisco in 2019, the current owners of seven years completed an exhaustive refit of all major onboard systems with emphasis on creating a robust, long distance cruising platform capable of being off-grid and fully independent for months at a time.

Fully equipped and ready for her next owners to step aboard and head for distant horizons, "Grace" represents a rare opportunity to acquire a turn-key, capable blue water cruising vessel at a very attractive price point.

Highlights include:

  • 85 hp Beta Marine diesel installed in 2018 with just 1100 hours

Vessel Particulars:

OVERVIEW:

"Grace" is a cutter rigged center cockpit ketch with an integral ballast keel and skeg hung rudder. Her interior features a raised deck salon pilothouse with interior steering station and three separate staterooms with two heads, providing a family-friendly interior while allowing privacy when cruising with a group.

Accommodations:

Going 'below' on "Grace" via the center cockpit companionway is unlike the confined 'below decks' sensation felt onboard most sailboats due to the large, raised pilothouse flooded with natural light and with excellent sight lines thanks to the large wrap around tinted windows.

The main salon provides that rare sailboat experience of being able to sit inside while still being able to observe your exterior surroundings from the generous raised dinette to port.  To starboard the interior helm station allows the vessel to be piloted in comfort from a fully protected steering station with excellent visibility.

Going forward from the main salon and down two steps is the full width galley comprising secure u-shaped counters to port with sink, refrigerator and freezer, and a large 'pantry' to starboard with extensive cabinetry adequate for amply provisioning a long-range vessel.  A floor mounted Dickinson diesel heater with fan provides ample warmth to the galley area which radiates throughout the vessel.

Forward from the galley to port is a guest head with sink, manual Jabsco toilet and integral shower, beyond which lies the forward stateroom comprising a v-berth and extensive wrap around cabinetry and storage closets, as well as an overhead hatch.

Going aft from the main salon, stairs to starboard allow access to the mid-cabin crew quarters, ideal for crew or kids.  The guest stateroom provides two offset bunks for crew as well as access to the generous mechanical space and engine room.

Opposite the crew cabin is the master head with separate shower stall.

Further aft, the master stateroom provides a snug center line queen berth surrounded by extensive built-in cabinetry and storage. This stateroom is equipped with a 9" B&G MFD with full functionality for monitoring vessel status, systems and position, and a 32" flatscreen smart TV with DVD player, all visible without having to leave the comfort of the queen berth.
