LIVIA is a Mostes 42, cabin cruiser with a cutter rig ideal for safe, comfortable offshore sailing with a small crew. The fiberglass hull is an original Rustler 42, built by the excellent Rustler Shipyard in Southampton UK and designed by Stephen Jones. The deck, interior fittings, engines and systems were subsequently built by Mostes Shipyard in Genoa. The Rustler 42 hull's famous marine qualities and cutter rig allow it to cope with difficult weather conditions by reducing the mainsail and rigging only the foresail. Since 2014 the hull, originally black, has turned white and a mainsail furling system was fitted in the boom in 2020, with assistance for manoeuvring deferred to an electrified winch in the cockpit.
LIVIA's hull is an original Rustler 42 to which the deck was assembled, handcrafted and finished in teak according to the highest rules of art and craftsmanship. The owner has in fact transferred the artefact to the Mostes Shipyard in Genoa for the design, construction and assembly of the furnishings, sail rig, motorisation, and systems up to RINA class A homologation (2009).
