Welcome aboard this 2006 Selene 57, Hull number 27 — a true long-range passagemaker designed for serious cruising and extended time onboard in comfort and safety. ‘Ocean Osprey’ has been boathouse kept and shows the care of a knowledgeable owner.
As you step aboard, you immediately notice the solid, purposeful feel Selene is known for. Wide, well-protected side decks with high bulwarks and substantial handholds make moving forward safe and secure in all conditions.
Stepping aboard through fore or aft boarding gates on each side or from the wide swim step, you enter the aft cockpit — a comfortable, protected space ideal for relaxing at anchor or preparing for a day underway. From here, molded steps lead easily to the boat deck, or forward to inside the salon. There is a large lazarette below the cockpit floor containing equipment including the diesel heater, watermaker and Glendinning cable master.
Entering the salon, you’re welcomed by the rich teak joinery Selene is known for, excellent headroom, and oversized windows that flood the space with natural light. This is a warm, inviting living area designed for extended time aboard. The layout allows for both entertaining and quiet evenings, with comfortable seating and excellent visibility out to the water. A bench seat is located down the starboard side and the L-shaped settee with an expandable dining table is to port.
Moving forward, the galley is to port and well laid out for real cruising. It’s secure, practical, and well equipped, offering ample counter space, storage, and proper appliances — everything required to prepare great meals comfortably whether underway or at anchor. Across from the galley to starboard are two drawer fridges, additional drawers and more counter space.
From here, step up into the pilothouse - where Selene truly shines. The helm offers outstanding visibility, clear sightlines forward, and a thoughtfully arranged navigation suite. A Stidd chair behind the hem provides the captain with safe and comfortable seating in all conditions. Twin Furuno NavNet displays, along with a dedicated touchscreen PC running TimeZero, provide powerful navigation and redundancy. The hydraulic bow and stern thrusters, along with Keypower stabilizers, provide confidence whether docking or running offshore. Two watertight doors offer direct access to either side decks and a staircase allow direct interior access to the flybridge and boat deck.
Heading below, the accommodations are designed for comfort and privacy. The full beam master stateroom is spacious and inviting, offering a walk around queen bed and generous storage with a private ensuite head. Forward, to port the guest stateroom with twin bunks and a desk provides comfortable accommodations for family or friends or a space to work onboard. The VIP stateroom in the bow is as large and comfortable as many master suites and the guest head with shower/tub ensures everyone aboard has space and convenience.
The engine room is accessed via a watertight door aft in the master stateroom and is a standout feature of this yacht. Powered by a single John Deere 6125 AFM electronic diesel producing up to 410 horsepower, ‘Ocean Osprey’ has the reliability and efficiency required for long-distance cruising. A Yanmar get-home engine with its own shaft and prop adds an extra layer of security, and the Northern Lights 16 kW generator ensures ample power at anchor or underway. Systems are well laid out, clean, and easily serviced — exactly what experienced cruisers look for.
Accessed from either the staircase in the salon or the staircase in the cockpit, the flybridge and boat deck offers an additional piloting station, a fabulous seating areas and space for a tender and gear. The flybridge and seating areas offer great views and are protected by a hardtop and full canvas enclosure allowing full use regardless of the weather. The custom designed folding mast and boom provides flexibility for bridge and boathouse clearance and versatility for launching the dinghy.
The Selene 57 ‘Ocean Osprey’ represents a rare opportunity to own a proven, well equipped ocean-capable trawler with thoughtful upgrades, excellent redundancy, and superb Selene craftsmanship. Whether your plans include coastal cruising, extended liveaboard adventures, or bluewater passagemaking, she can take you there — safely and in comfort.
