This 1998 Hunter 450 Passage is a proven cruising yacht presented in very good condition for her age and continuously upgraded over the years. She has been clearly well cared for, with interior woodwork, upholstery, and overall fit and finish showing particularly well, as seen in the photos. Designed for comfortable long-distance cruising, she offers a spacious interior with multiple cabins, two heads, and excellent storage.

Sail handling is easy with all lines led aft, Lewmar self-tailing winches including a Lewmar 48ST electric winch, an in-mast furling mainsail (2019), furling jib (2020), and updated running rigging. Ground tackle includes a 65 lb stainless Mantus anchor with 250 ft of chain (2022) and electric windlass.

Powered by a Yanmar 75 HP diesel with Kohler 9 kW generator. Upgraded electrical system with 900W solar and Victron inverter/charger (2025). Excellent autonomy with 193 gal water capacity, Katadyne watermaker, two-zone A/C (forward unit 2021), full Simrad electronics, Raymarine autopilot, hard-top cockpit enclosure, and a 2025 CaribMarine tender with 9.8 HP outboard.

Sails & Rigging:

Main Sail – New 2019 (approx); in-mast furling

Jib Sail – New 2020; forestay furling

Running Rigging – Primary working lines (inhaul, outhaul, main sheet, traveller, jib sheets) replaced in 2020/2021. Other running rigging is in good condition

Standing Rigging – All standing rigging is in good condition

Winches – All lines run back into the cockpit where four (4) winches are located. Two (2) Lewmar 44ST winches for the jib sheets, one Lewmar 44ST winch for other lines, and one (1) Lewmar 48ST powered winch for other lines

Deck Gear:

Three primary mooring cleats located on port and starboard sides respectively

Primary anchor is a Stainless Steel Mantus (65 pounds) with 250 feet of 5/16” high strength steel anchor chain (chain replaced in 2022)

Secondary anchor is a 20 pound galvanized Danforth anchor outfitted with 210 feet of rode

Water Maker – Katadyne 12V system with a capacity of approximately 5–7 US gallons per hour; very reliable service for the past three years of cruising

Water Heater – 110V AC hot water tank with 11 US gallon capacity; engine water heating is automatic when the engine is running; solar system also outfitted with a 12V DC hot water circulation system operable when temperature under solar panels exceeds 100°F

Refrigerator & Freezer – One cold box for each located in the galley; 12V air-cooled compressors delivering refrigerant to evaporator plates in each box; supplemental water cooling system included

Air Conditioning – Forward zone serviced by a 12,000 BTU Dometic cooling & heating unit located in the main salon (new unit installed 2021); aft zone serviced by an 8,000 BTU Dometic cooling & heating unit located in the aft cabin
