Description of Yacht

Puff is an elegant 33-foot day sailor that features a large open cockpit with sufficient space below for a family weekend.  Puff has been lightly used for three seasons.  Puff was purchased by an experienced yachtsman who added customized extras to the many standard options offered by the builder. Puff has always been stored indoors and maintained by Marblehead Trading.  Puff is  in better than new condition. 

The Saffier Se 33 was designed to be enjoyed with friends and family in the utmost comfort-- sailing at high speeds with easy handling. The latest hull design and vacuum-built methods provide a stable, light, fast and safe day sailor.  The boat can be controlled by one person from behind the dual steering wheels. All sheets, halyards and trimlines run under deck back to the helmsman’s position.   The generous cockpit seating area and sundeck behind the helm provide all the space one needs to relax and enjoy  time on the water.

Custom Extras

Custom designed Doyle Sails self-tacking laminate jib by Doyle Sails with 18% more sail area than the standard sail. Extra leach sail area helps close the gap between the main and jib.

Custom designed bow pulpit, lifelines and stanchions with gates to port and starboard.

Custom designed binnacle type frames at both helms with additional chart plotter at starboard helm. Frames provide needed support and hand holds at the helm.

Doyle A3 roller furling asymmetrical with Harken hardware in addition to the full size asymmetrical that was included with the boat.

Custom fabric on cockpit and interior cushions by Onboard Interiors.

Numerous small additions such as handles below, in the head and on hatches, cockpit fire extinguisher.

Thru hull transponder replaced with electric transponder.

Bottom painted with VC offshore bottom paint.

Keel

Puff’s original keel was removed and replaced this spring with a new keel built last winter by Saffier Yachts and shipped to Marblehead Trading.  The new keel is approximately the same depth and weight as the original keel and is the upgraded design that Saffier is using on its 33’s. The original keel was damaged when it hit a rock last summer.  There was no structural damage to the boat. 

Rigging/Winches

Carbon Fiber mast and bow sprit, rod rigging, Dynema halyards, toping lift and down haul. Electric Harken winch plus 3 other Harken Winches. Rod boom vang.

Electronics

Raymarine 70 speed, depth and wind on mast, Raymarine 70 auto pilot, Raymarine E9 chart plotters at both hems. VHF below and in cockpit. Extra service battery.  Shore Power with battery charger. Voltmeter.

Sails

Original main and jib in black upgraded laminate plus custom Doyle Sails jib mentioned above. Standard asymmetrical spinnaker plus A3 Doyle Sails roller furling asymmetrical mentioned above. Lazy bag and lazy jacks.  UV ply on jib.
