full set of pictures will be uploaded soon.

RESOLUTE is a true all-oceans, passage maker which has been designed for family cruising.

RESOLUTE is a very comfortable blue water cruiser. Two prudent amateur sailors can easily handle her rugged ketch rig sail plan and operate her sensible and reliable machinery.  Mark and Sara have enjoyed sailing RESOLUTE on their own over many sea miles since 2008.

This vessel was originally commissioned “DREAM CHASER” in March 1995 and built for world cruising by TPI in Rhode Island.  Hinkley did the initial commissioning in Southwest Harbor, Maine.  The first owners with 3 children completed a 15 stop, 30,000 miles circumnavigation via the Panama Canal and the Cape of Good Hope in 364 days.

Steve Dashew designed the Sundeer 64 as a vessel with very practical innovation evolving from his many years at sea and experience with several earlier prototypes.  Three watertight compartments make her a very safe yacht.  The large pilothouse is comfortable underway in all conditions.  Moderate displacement and a long waterline make her extremely fast under sail and the 140 HP Yanmar powers her at 9.5 knots.

With a fuel capacity of 350 gallons, water capacity of 550 gallons and a 1680c amp/hour battery bank combined with solar and water-making capabilities, RESOLUTE is capable of extended, long-distance cruising.

One very important feature of this vessel is the watertight isolation of the main accommodation.  There are two watertight bulkheads fore and aft.

The first 12 feet of the bow is a huge anchor and sail locker with a watertight bulkhead to isolate the accommodation.  There is a dorade to ventilate the fore peak.

In the accommodation section, the queen size master suite is forward with a separate head, shower, washing machine and washbasin, plus extensive storage.

The main salon is amidships with a large central dining table, custom bookshelves and entertainment center.

The second head is starboard side, aft of the navigation station and forward of the aft staterooms.

For ventilation of the accommodation, there are 14 dorade vents with Vetus 5” cowls, each with internal adjustment or closure device, as well as numerous fans, ensuring that the boat remains at a comfortable temperature.

A second full water-tight bulkhead separates the accommodation from the machinery space.  All machinery, including main engine, water maker, generator set, dual autopilot drive, hot water storage, steering quadrant, etc, are located in the spacious aft watertight section of the vessel.

HULL  The construction of the vessel is American Bureau of Shipping approved.  The hull and deck are made of biaxial and unidirectional rovings on an end-grain balsa core infused with vinyl ester resin using the SCRIMP vacuum bagging process.  The deck joint is a horizontal lap construction sitting on a four-inch inboard flange bolted every four inches.  Watertight bulkheads at the forward and aft end of the interior accommodation are also fibreglass over balsa core. The rubbing strake is molded into the hull and capped with aluminium.  The external keel is lead.  There are four standpipes (one in the forepeak, one in the engine room, two serve as pilot house drains). Six thru-hull fittings - one in the engine room, and in the stateroom there are two for airconditioning, plus one for the depth log and one for speed logs, and one in the starboard aft stateroom for air-conditioning discharge - these are the only hull intrusions.  Water tanks, 275 gallons each, are amidships, just above the waterline along the hull sides and can act to provide improved stability when a full windward tank is used as movable ballast.  Fresh rainwater can be collected from the deck through valves fitted to deck drains and plumbed to freshwater tanks.  Diesel fuel is in two 175-gallon aluminum tanks mounted on the hull sides in the engine room.  A transfer pump allows fuel to be moved to the windward tank.  The heavy house batteries, 8 x 6v Trojan traction batteries are under the main cabin sole in the keel stub.  They act as part of the ballast package and contribute to vessel stability.  The hull was painted with Awlgrip Flag Blue in 2006.  The hull was bottom coated in Copper coat in 2010

FOREPEAK: The front section of the vessel is a watertight compartment and is a large storage space with access only from the deck through a 30-inch Bowmar hatch.  The anchor chain is stacked in a fibreglass cylinder.  This huge locker accommodates all the ground tackle, as well as spare sails, spare lines, dive tanks, and other important cruising gear.

MASTER STATEROOM:  The master suite has a queen double berth to the port side with 4 large drawers beneath.  On the starboard side, there are 2 hanging lockers and a vanity with storage lockers over and under the counter.  The spacious master head has storage for towels and linens beside the washer/dryer (220v LG Direct Drive, powered by the Victron inverter).  There is one 30-inch Bowmar hatch for ventilation of the master SR, and a 9-inch hatch over the head.  All cabinets and joinery work are satin finished cherry. Side windows, coupled with the large hatches, make this a very light and airy space.

SALOON  The beautiful satin finished cherry dining table is surrounded on two sides by a 6-seat settee, making this an ideal space to relax in.  There is an additional settee on the starboard side which can be used as a working bunk whilst at sea.  Two 30-inch Bowmar deck hatches provide superb ventilation, which together with the side windows, make this light and airy.  The teak cabin sole is newly varnished.

NAV STATION AND ELECTRONICS/ENTERTAINMENT  The navigation station and electrical distribution panel are aft of the saloon to starboard side, and the galley is on the port side.

Instruments B&G Hydra 2 sailing instruments in cockpit. B&G 20/20 screens at  Nav Table and above Master Bed. Including B&G wind gear, B&G   Log for boat speed and B&G depth sounder.
