RUBY IS A MUST SEE!
RUBY is a substantially updated example of the classic Hatteras 56 Motor Yacht, combining the solid fiberglass construction and generous proportions Hatteras is known for with an extensive list of mechanical, safety, interior and comfort upgrades. With a 56-foot length, impressive 18’2” beam and spacious three-stateroom, three-head layout, she is well suited for cruising, entertaining or comfortable liveaboard use.
Her interior offers exceptional room throughout. The full-beam aft owner’s stateroom features a centerline queen berth, cedar-lined storage, abundant drawer space, windows on three sides and a private en-suite head with a tub and shower. Guests are accommodated in a midship cabin with twin berths and a forward cabin with over-and-under berths.
The salon has been refreshed with new wall-to-wall carpeting, a new L-shaped sofa, new curtains, updated lighting and custom window treatments. The pilothouse includes a lower helm, bench seating with storage and convenient access to both side decks. The full galley is equipped with a stainless full-size refrigerator and freezer, double oven, cooktop, microwave, extensive cabinet storage and a comfortable booth-style dinette. An updated vented washer and dryer adds practical convenience for extended stays aboard.
One of RUBY’s most impressive features is her expansive, weather-protected aft deck. This comfortable entertaining area includes wraparound seating, a large teak dining table, wet bar, icemaker and television. Wide walkaround side decks lead forward to a custom bow sun pad and seating area. The large flybridge provides abundant guest seating, three helm chairs, dual bimini tops and a fully equipped upper helm.
RUBY is powered by twin Detroit Diesel 8V92 engines with updated Allison MH20 transmissions. Additional machinery includes updated shafts and dripless shaft logs, an Onan 21.5kW generator and a custom-installed bow thruster that makes close-quarters handling and docking considerably easier.
Navigation equipment has been extensively updated at both helm stations and includes four Garmin 1242xsv multifunction displays, Garmin radar, Simrad autopilot, Furuno sounder and transducer, AIS-equipped VHF radios, Garmin digital depth, speed and temperature instrumentation, spotlight, compass and updated trim-tab actuators.

Additional upgrades include 2023 Isinglass, an updated icemaker, refreshed bimini top, custom Sunbrella bow cushions and seating, side-door and salon window tint, resealed windows, teak-and-holly flooring, updated galley air conditioning, freshwater heads, updated pumps and hoses, reconditioned propellers and updated faucets.
Under previous ownership, major work included an updated Garmin electronics package, rewiring beneath the upper helm, updated transmissions, shafts and dripless shaft logs, updated through-hull fittings, sea cocks and bonding, a watermaker, updated head pumps, an updated windlass, replacement galley windows, updated headliner and LED lighting, and extensive bottom work including a gel peel, fairing, barrier coating and Micron CSC bottom paint.
