The Grand Banks 42 has developed a following that is unparalleled among knowledgeable cruisers who are looking for an economical and dependable cruising yacht. The Classic layout, with her two staterooms, each with its own private head, separated by the salon, is an ideal vessel for couple with children, or guests, providing complete privacy for each stateroom. The large salon windows, for which Grand Banks is known, surround the owner and guests with a 360 degree view and excellent visibility from the helm while flooding the spacious salon with daylight. Out on deck, the Grand Banks tradition continues with wide and secure walk around decks protected by generous bulwarks and staunch railings.
A veteran of the Inside Passage, she welcomes you aboard by way of the traditional Grand Banks side gates or from the swim step via the transom gate. She features the traditional Grand Banks 42 Classic two stateroom layout. The interior offers the warmth of hand crafted teak cabinetry, furniture and parquet flooring for which Grand Banks yachts are known. Custom draperies are provided throughout.
Fully forward is the Guest Stateroom with V berth featuring newer custom ultra suede microfiber upholstery with a filler piece and ensuite head and shower. Next aft and up 4 steps, the helm is to starboard and the L-Galley to port. Next aft is the main salon with an L-shaped settee that surrounds the traditional style Grand Banks yacht table and a straight settee with filler piece to port. With the back cushions removed, each can serve as an additional single berth. As with the V-berth, both settees were also reupholstered with ultra-suede microfiber upholstery. Full aft and down, the master stateroom features an island walk around Queen size bed, desk and an ensuite head with separate shower compartment.
The lower helm station has great sight lines and easy access to side decks via starboard and port doors. The salon includes a built in entertainment and stowage cabinet that houses the original GB speaker control panel tied to a Sony amp, an input jack for iphone and a 24’ Samsung flat screen television. The traditional GB teak drop leaf yacht table with bottle stowage below, 2 built in drawers and stowage well, seats 5-6 for dinner. A dry bar with ice maker and 3 drawers below provides for cocktail service. After sundown, overhead LED general lighting provides ample light. Fixtures include a teak book rack, Weems and Plath barometer and clock, 2 teak fishing pole racks and full length overhead teak grab rails. Large, operable windows provide ample ventilation. There is additional stowage under the settees.
