Ondeck entry through either watertight door reveals the quality of the fine woodworking and elegance that M/V San Gottardo affords. Conveniently located brass handholds throughout. Soles in high traffic areas are of faux-teak vinyl; high grade carpeting in the staterooms. Numerous heating, air-conditioning, and fresh air ventilation systems offer cabin customized selections.
The amidships main deck entry leads to the galley on the starboard side. Forward is the salon and dining tables. Aft of the galley is the companionway. There is large walk-in freezer in this area. The day head is located in this companionway. Further aft leads to the master stateroom with ensuite head.
The lower deck companionway, via stairs from the salon, accesses the VIP stateroom on the starboard side, a guest stateroom forward, and large guest cabin with four beds in the forepeak. The guest head and laundry center is portside.
The walk-around engine room is accessed via a watertight door near the salon entrance. The wheelhouse is situated above the galley and salon with stair access on the interior from the salon or ladder from the foredeck.
The ergonomically designed galley allows for safety while cooking at sea. Large picturesque windows supply natural lighting. A large bar provides for meals, preparation space, as well as convenient buffet service. Headroom is 6'5."

Entry to the pilothouse is via aft port or starboard exterior watertight doors on the upper level or from stairs on the starboard side of the salon. The pilothouse is what one would expect from this grand ship whether it be in outstanding near-panoramic visibility, full array of electronics and duplicates, or for the comforts of long-range cruising.
The hydraulic system is powered by an independent battery back-up. The solar panels are an eco-friendly support that reduces reliability on generator power and promotes self-sufficiency.
The engine room is accessed via a watertight door from the covered port sidedeck. With walk-around and stand-up room, all essential equipment is easily accessed. The lazarette is accessed from the engine room from a watertight hatch on the aft deck.
The foredeck is simple and spacious. A watertight hatch accesses the chain locker.
The aft deck features a roof overhang with inlaid dimmable floodlights providing protection from sun and weather while enjoying al fresco dining or the scenery.
In 2009, the M/V San Gottardo was transformed from a 1963 North Seas fishing trawler to a luxury yacht. Designed by Rick Brinkman, the acclaimed Dutch naval architect, this ship was completely disassembled down to the rivets. A new steel hull and superstructure and an aluminum pilothouse were created.The full displacement raked bow steel hull has a canoe stern and long keel.
Also in 2009, the D343 Caterpillar engine underwent a complete rebuild. New installations included 2 generators, heating systems, solar panels, watermaker, and vast array of electronics. The updated electrical system is 400/220/24 volt. Numerous additional upgrades 2023-2025.
