The Sabre 402 is a 40-foot performance cruiser designed by Jim Taylor in collaboration with the Sabre Design Team. She’s fast and responsive, yet easily handled by a cruising couple, backed by New England craftsmanship and modern design elements like a carbon fiber rudder post and a finely tuned keel and rig package. The Sabre 402 won Cruising World's 'Mid-Sized Cruiser' and Overall 'Boat of the Year' awards in 1997 and has racked up strong results both around the buoys and offshore, including class wins in events like the Newport/Bermuda race. Belowdecks, the Sabre 402 was designed with abundant counter space in the galley, a well laid-out navigation station, and a single head with an adjoining shower stall. She's best known as a coastal performance cruiser and remains highly regarded on the used boat market for her blend of speed, comfort, and build quality. Well-maintained examples like SCRIMSHAW continue to hold strong value.
