The Beneteau Sense 55 was created for sailors who want genuine passagemaking capability without giving up the space light, and easy circulation of a contemporary luxury yacht. Designed by Berret-Racoupeau Yacht Design with an interior by Nauta Design, the Sense 55 pairs a powerful modern hull, twin rudders, and a practical cockpit-led sail plan with an unusually open connection between the cockpit and raised saloon.

Step aboard at the broad stern platform and the design’s purpose is immediately clear: movement is natural, sightlines are excellent, and the cockpit becomes a true outdoor living room. 

Accommodations & Interior

The Sense concept moves the living spaces higher in the hull, creating a saloon that feels open, bright, and closely connected to the water. Just a few steps below, panoramic glazing fills the saloon and galley with daylight. Forward accommodations remain private and quiet, while systems and machinery are concentrated aft for convenient access. 

The result is a distinctive cruising yacht equally suited to coastal weekends, extended voyages, and comfortable liveaboard use.

The galley is positioned for easy service to both the saloon and cockpit, with generous counter area, practical storage, and excellent ventilation. There is even a dishwasher (never used)! Forward, the owner and guest cabins benefit from separation from the machinery spaces and each has direct access to the yacht’s heads.

Deck, Rig & Handling

Equipped with a tall, deck-stepped, 9/10 fractional rig, a furling genoa, and an in-mast furling mainsail, all running rigging is led aft to the cockpit for simplified sail handling. The cockpit arrangement places twin helm stations outboard for visibility while the mainsheet arch helps preserve a comfortable social area. The broad stern platform simplifies boarding, swimming, and tender access. Deluxe cockpit cushions and a cushioned forward lounge are on the foredeck provide plenty of room for large groups of family and friends.

The factory-installed Dock & Go gives the captain added confidence around the docks with easy joystick handling of the main propulsion system and the bow thruster.

Electronics, Navigation, Communication and Entertainment

Sensible is equipped with the full factory B&G Zeus sailing perfomance package, with 9" color MFD's at both helms, autopilot, GPS, depth, wind speed and boat speed readouts, VHF communications with AIS and a stereo with speakers both above and below deck.
