Tartuga is a proven, extensively updated Beneteau Oceanis 48, ready for her next cruising adventure. Having successfully completed the 2024 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) and cruised the Bahamas during the 2025–2026 season, she offers buyers a well-equipped cruising platform with many of the significant maintenance and upgrade items associated with a yacht of this size already addressed.
Major updates completed between 2024 and 2026 include:
Beyond these recent improvements, Tartuga is exceptionally well equipped for extended cruising. Her cruising inventory includes a 1,050W solar array mounted on a custom stainless-steel arch, Schenker watermaker, three-zone air conditioning, bow thruster, three electric Harken winches, electric windlass, AIS, Starlink, shoal-draft keel (6'), and a 2021 Highfield 340 aluminum RIB with 20 HP Tohatsu outboard.
Her desirable three-cabin, two-head owner's layout provides comfortable accommodations for a cruising couple, family, or guests while maintaining excellent storage and living space.
One of Tartuga's greatest advantages is that she is not simply equipped for extended cruising—she has actually done it. Her successful ARC crossing and subsequent Bahamas cruising demonstrate the boat's capability and the systems aboard her.
Privately owned and never chartered, with no known hurricane or material damage history, Tartuga has been actively maintained and substantially upgraded by her current owner. She is USCG documented, properly imported with CBP-7501 documentation, and available for immediate inspection at Safe Harbor Charleston City Marina.

The Beneteau Oceanis 48 features a spacious, open cockpit that balances comfort and functionality. Twin helms offer great visibility and access, and the centerline table includes storage, lighting, and stainless steel handrails. Tartuga is equipped with six folding cockpit cushions, a dodger, a bimini, and mesh side curtains for comfort and protection.
There is plenty of storage, with two large cockpit lockers, additional compartments in the cockpit sole, a dedicated propane locker, and a liferaft locker beneath the helm seat.
The electric fold-down transom creates a wide swim platform for easy water access and tender boarding. When raised, it forms secure seating and encloses the cockpit.
Most sail controls are led aft for short-handed sailing, with electric primary winches positioned within easy reach of both helms. The mainsheet is led to an overhead arch, keeping the cockpit uncluttered and safe.
Side decks are wide and easy to navigate, and the foredeck is clean and functional, with a large chain locker, anchor windlass, and ample space for ground tackle (73 lbs Rocna anchor and 150+ ft. of chain) and cruising gear.
Tartuga has three cabins and two heads. There are two aft guest cabins with double berths and a spacious forward owner’s suite, all finished in a modern style with warm teak joinery that adds contrast and refinement.
The galley is located to port at the base of the companionway, a practical position for use both underway and at anchor. It features double sinks near the centerline, a front-opening refrigerator, ample counter space, and well-organized storage with cabinets and drawers.
Opposite the galley is a large head with a separate shower, easily accessible for guests and day use.
The salon is open and inviting, with excellent natural light from overhead hatches and hull ports. A U-shaped settee and dining table are positioned to starboard, with additional seating to port, creating a comfortable space for dining or relaxing. Storage is thoughtfully integrated throughout, with lockers above and compartments below.
Both aft cabins are well lit and well ventilated, offering comfortable double berths and hanging lockers. The forward owner’s cabin is the highlight, featuring a centerline berth, generous storage, an ensuite head with a separate shower, and added touches like a vanity and seating area. The layout is designed for practical, comfortable extended cruising.
