When you think classic motor yacht, the unmistakeable lines of a Hatteras generally pop into your head at some point during the thought. This 1978 Hatteras 58 Motoryacht embodies that thought. Classic lines from every angle, these boats have the long established reputation of being well built and laid out for either extensive cruising with family or friends, or spacious, functional, and comfortable liveaboards.
Your next motor yacht, Vita Nostra, benefits from extensive restoration over the last 5 years. No expense was spared on all of the projects completed on this boat to modernize her and make her a reliable cruiser. She was being refit for a family of 5 to take off on the adventure of a lifetime, however life changes have forced her sale.

Also on the flybridge, aft of the enclosure, several newly upholstered benches allow you and your guest to enjoy the sights in comfort. Further after, a hydraulic davit to allow easy launching and retrieval of your dinghy.
On the bow there is beautiful new Teak styled decking, all new cushions for a large sunpad and padded bow bench, beautiful teak railings and an electric windlass. Furthermore, there is all new black canvas covers for everything including the bow rails, pilothouse windshield, sundae, and bow bench
Moving inside, you will notice that the interior has been freshly restyled. The owner spared no expense bringing in Hatteras’ past interior designer, Dawn Moffit, to stylize all the new finishes and furniture.
This model has the galley up version and is equipped with newer stainless appliances including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, deep stainless steel single bay sink, stainless microwave, trash compactor, electric cooktop, and stainless wine/beverage fridge. On the backside there is a nice sized breakfast bar with seats.
In the salon, 2 new sofas face each other awaiting late nights of memories and conversations.
Moving aft to the aft enclosed deck, you will find new Teak style flooring, fresh paint, plush outdoor furniture, and all new enclosures to allow use of the area in all different kinds of weather.
Head downstairs from the pilot house you walk up to an L-Shaped bunk room port with en-suite head and shower, and forward, an optional captain and crew cabin with a desk, a ton of storage and good sized bunks with an additional ensuite head. Aft you walk down the stairs to find a hallway between the mechanical rooms port and starboard. There is a port cabin with twins with its own head and shower on the starboard side. Moving aft you walk into the primary stateroom. The primary stateroom on this Hatteras is huge. Lots of drawers and closet surround the room, a vanity with mirror is on the port side, a large ensuite head is on the starboard side, and a queen bed sits centered aft.
Some Maintenance and Upgrade Highlights
Engines and running gear: Both propulsion engines have received oil and filter service, transmission oil and filter changes, heat exchanger cleaning, and cooling system work. The boat was hauled in April 2026 for bottom paint and running gear preparation.
Electrical systems: Engine and house batteries have been replaced, along with shore power cord. Electrical updates include a 12V lithium systems battery and separate dedicated charger, revised as built wiring diagrams for the entire boat, and a new pilothouse dashboard with replacement engine gauges.
Navigation and safety: Simrad electronics, four cameras viewable from the helm displays, VHF equipment, navigation lights, high water alarm, and portable fire extinguishers are all new. The CO₂ fire suppression bottle was hydrotested and reinstalled.
Exterior: The hull and topsides have been completely painted, buffed and sealed. Exterior teak, spray rails, and pilothouse doors have been rebuilt, refinished or repaired. The flybridge windshield, several cabin windows, flybridge enclosure panels, afterdeck enclosure panels, cushions, and canvas have been replaced or renewed.
Interior and systems: Work includes a new hot water heater, new fresh water system, all air conditioning units are new, numerous plumbing and head repairs including 2 new vacu-flush systems with level gauges, lighting upgrades, upholstery, 2 bathrooms are completely refinished, and interior detailing.
