BEST OF THE BEST UNDER 60’
VIVERE is a 2011 Southerly 57RS Raised Saloon cutter designed by Ed Dubois and built by Northshore Yachts in the United Kingdom. As the flagship of the Southerly variable-draft range, the 57RS was created to bring together true ocean-crossing ability, shallow-water freedom, elegant raised-saloon living, and shorthanded sailing systems in a yacht under 60 feet.
The design brief is immediately clear: VIVERE was built for owners who want to sail far, live aboard comfortably, and reach anchorages that most yachts of this size cannot access. With her hydraulic swing keel, she draws approximately 4’ with the keel raised and 10’9” with the keel fully deployed, giving her both shoal-draft freedom and powerful windward ability. Twin rudders, a long waterline, fine entry, beam carried well aft, and a substantial grounding plate create a yacht that is stable offshore, easy to manage, and unusually versatile for her length.
On deck, VIVERE offers a large, secure aft sailing cockpit, twin carbon wheels, redundant helm electronics, push-button sail handling, bow and stern thrusters, a hydraulic transom door, and a Williams jet tender housed in the garage. Below, the Raised Saloon is bright and commanding, with Dubois’ signature teardrop windows, Crown Cut teak joinery, leather and stainless accents, and a Rhoades Young interior that feels more like a small superyacht than a conventional production cruiser.
VIVERE is also thoughtfully updated, with a 150 HP Yanmar 4LV150 diesel, lithium house bank, 800 W solar array, watermaker, updated B&G electronics, Starlink, recent drivetrain improvements, and a new Code Zero. She is a rare offering for a buyer who wants serious bluewater capability, luxury liveaboard comfort, and the freedom to cruise shallow waters without sacrificing sailing performance.

The galley is positioned forward of the Raised Saloon and is designed for serious time aboard. Corian counters, stainless appliances, keel-cooled refrigeration, wine storage, and generous cabinetry make the space practical underway and comfortable at anchor. Across from the galley, the chef’s nook seats two around a built-in desk/breakfast-bar arrangement with additional storage and excellent natural light.
NAVIGATION STATION
The navigation station is located aft to port within the Raised Saloon, just inboard of the companionway. This elevated position gives the navigator visibility, immediate access to the cockpit, and a central location for system monitoring, communications, and electrical control. The leather swivel navigation seat includes fold-down armrests and places the navigator in front of three panels of instrumentation.
ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS
VIVERE carries a substantial B&G-based navigation package with updated multifunction displays, redundant helm instrumentation, autopilot controls, VHF communications, AIS, and NMEA 2000 integration. The suite is well matched to the yacht’s offshore purpose and shorthanded sailing design.

HULL
VIVERE was designed by Ed Dubois and built by Northshore Yachts as the flagship of the Southerly variable-draft range. Her hull form carries a fine entry, long waterline, and beam aft for stability, interior volume, and confident offshore motion. The hydraulic swing keel is central to the design, allowing shallow-water access with the keel raised and true deep-keel sailing performance when deployed.
DECK
The deck layout is built around secure movement, shorthanded sail handling, and a strong connection between the cockpit and Raised Saloon. The raised coachroof and teardrop windows are a signature of the design, while the aft deck, garage, and hydraulic transom door create a genuine beach-club-style stern platform.

ENGINE AND MECHANICAL
VIVERE is powered by a 150 HP Yanmar 4LV150 diesel engine with Yanmar electronic controls at both helm stations. The current engine was new in 2018 and installed with zero hours in 2023. The drivetrain package also includes a 2023 ZF63A transmission, Aqua Drive unit, rebuilt Max Prop, and upgraded fuel filtration.
PLUMBING AND TANKAGE
VIVERE is set up for extended cruising with substantial fuel, water, and holding capacity, a high-output watermaker, electric heads, and practical tank monitoring from the navigation station.

BROKER’S COMMENTS
VIVERE is one of the most compelling yachts in the sub-60-foot bluewater market because she does something very few yachts can do well: she combines serious offshore ability, refined luxury, shorthanded sailing systems, and true shoal-draft freedom in one yacht. The Southerly 57RS is not another conventional center-cockpit cruiser. She is a modern raised-saloon, variable-draft offshore yacht with a signature Dubois profile, an elegant Rhoades Young interior, and the structural intent of a yacht designed for real voyaging.
The swing keel is the headline feature, but it is not a gimmick. Keel down, VIVERE has the bite, righting moment, and windward ability expected of a serious offshore yacht. Keel up, she opens up shallow anchorages, rivers, Bahamas-style cruising grounds, and tucked-away harbors that most 57-foot yachts simply cannot reach. Her ability to safely take the ground on the keel pad and twin rudders further expands her cruising possibilities and makes her a uniquely practical long-distance yacht.
Her interior is equally important. The Raised Saloon creates real visibility, light, and livability underway, while the three-cabin, two-head arrangement provides privacy and storage for extended time aboard. The full-beam owner’s suite forward, aft guest accommodations, chef’s nook, and elevated nav station make the boat feel far more spacious and considered than a conventional cruiser of similar length.
VIVERE is also well equipped and meaningfully updated, with lithium power, solar, Starlink, watermaker, updated B&G navigation electronics, recent drivetrain improvements, a carbon rig, powered sail handling, bow and stern thrusters, and a Williams jet tender in a garage. For a buyer who wants a yacht that can cross oceans, cruise shallow water, and stand apart from the usual bluewater offerings, VIVERE deserves serious attention.
VIVERE is noted as undergoing spring maintenance, with hull and deck wax completed and haul-out, bottom paint, zincs, mast clear-coat work, and rig survey scheduled for 5/26. These items should be confirmed and updated as work is completed before activation.
