Denison Yachting | January 3, 2022

This article is a transcription of Denison’s December 2021 monthly recap video. Tune in monthly to discover the most recent yachting industry and superyacht news from Denison. Watch the full video above:

Hey guys, it’s Bob Denison and it’s time for our December in review, and today we’re going to go over the three things we go over. “What we’ve done,” “what we’re going to do,” and “who we are.” And by the way, in this video, a special guest: maybe my son Rivers will be saying hi, maybe. Not sure yet.

So, some things we’ve done in December: Christmas happened, and at the end, we’re going to actually do a little video/montage. You’ll see, I think, some clips from our Christmas party. But it was a blast, Christmas is obviously our favorite holiday like it is everybody else’s.

In December, on the “what we sold” part was a great one. 60-meter new construction project out of Amels, Project Snow, was sold by Kurt Bosshardt and Patrick Hopkins. We also just closed on a 150 foot Palmer Johnson, that was Alex G. Clarke. And right after that, we closed on a 136 Intermarine, that was Gary Hardcastle and Will and Karie Noftsinger. And we also closed 131 Sunseeker, David Johnson.

Speaking of David Johnson, he closed the first-ever 102 Alpha Spritz here in the US. Huge deal that came out of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Went to an amazing couple, we’re so excited about their new journey on their Alpha. And also, Peter Quintal, and 92 Pershing. One of those really cool, “Oh my gosh, can’t believe what I’m looking at” boats. Congratulations Peter on that one.

Listings: You talk to any yacht broker anywhere they’ll tell you listings are harder and harder to come by just because the market is hot, supply is light, and demand is high. We did pick up 3 that I’m going to mention here. One of them is a 135 Horizon by Alex Clarke. That was actually a boat we closed on years and years ago when it was in Spain. The owner brought her over to Vancouver where she is lying now. That just hit the market. Also112 Westport [BOOK ENDS], that’s Thom Conboy and Chris Collins. And another boat, a little bit smaller but really really cool boat, 53 HCB 2019 listed by Russ Shafer and Drew Offerdahl.

Now we’re gonna talk about what we’re going to do. New Years is obviously approaching. Beginning of the year for us is a flurry of activity. The Corporate Vision Meeting happens first or second week of January. We’re also getting ready for some big boat shows.

We’ve got Stuart coming up and then we got the big one in Miami, and we also have the Seattle one happening in early February. So we’re getting all of those details behind the scenes. The team is working hard on shows happening in February. We’re doing that now in December. That just shows you how great that team is, right? We’re planning. We’re executing.

And now, maybe a special message from Rivers Denison. So, Rivers wanted to tell you guys who his five favorite people are that work at Denison. Go!

“My Dad”
Me

“Alex”
Alex Howell right there. Not Alex Clarke, Alex Howell.

“Josh”
Josh, director of marketing, nice.

“Reilly”
Reilly is awesome, one of our great interns here.

“Lee”
Lee Hall, that’s five. Good job. I think you missed somebody.

“Lauren”
Well Lauren yeah, she’s amazing. What about the one that gives you chocolates all the time?

“I already did five”
You already did five. Okay. Well, Kathy gives you chocolates all the time, so you might want to. Kathy, I guess if we have to name another one. Do you want to say Happy New Year? You act like you’ve done this before.

“Happy New Year!”

High-five for 2022! Bye!
