This article is a transcription of Denison’s May 2022 monthly recap video. Tune in monthly to discover the most recent yachting industry and superyacht news from Denison. Watch the full video above:

Hi, it’s Bob and I get to tell you about what we did here at Denison Yachting in the month of May 2022. As always we talk about three things and I don’t think I’m doing a good enough job of like reinforcing this but like fire on this one. What we’ve done and the next section is what we’re going to do for like sparkles maybe on there. And the third one is who we are. Confetti. These are like three chapters this video.

So the first thing what we’ve done. We get to talk a little bit about F1 and that is Formula 1. The Grand Prix that happened in Miami. It was two weeks ago. We are happy to be a part of that. There was a fake, but really cool Marina. Filippetti put a yacht in there. We were happy to participate with them and it was a blast. The first time F1 has ever visited Miami. It’ll be happening again and again and again and we can’t wait to continue to support the great things happening there.

Also we just published our Q1 Market Report and it kind of highlights super yacht segment of the market, small boat sales and just sort of what the health of the industry is and things looked really good. The First Quarter of 2022 was the third best quarter in the history of the world early since we’ve been keeping track of that kind of thing last 20-25 years. Slightly below last year but really really good numbers overall. I’m not going to bore you with all of the stats by region, by category, you can go on our website or visit social media. We should hopefully have it very easy to find for you there but it’s a really really good report.

Also very cool thing happened in Istanbul. A new marine had an open house and when I say an open house it should be called something much cooler now does a really great event with Numarine owners. Alex Clarke went and visited. We have clients there. Numarines are just incredibly awesome boats and there was a gathering of new marines. You can see the footage here. It was a blast. I wish I could have been there. I was represented us well and we can’t wait for more exciting things coming from our friends at new marine. More to come on that, very very very soon.

And also in the what we’ve done part this video, I just want to highlight a few sales and closings that happened in the month of May 2022. First up is ODYSSEA, a 154 Heesen sold by Thom Conboy and Chris Collins. Next up we have 139 foot Abeking by Kurt Bosshardt and Peter Quintal. 136 foot Palmer Johnson just closed today that but was in Monaco the name of that PJ was GRIFFIN and that was closed by Thom Conboy and Michael Bach. Alex G. Clark closed on a 121 Benetti, also over in the Med called DYNA and two back to back in the same week by Joe Lazzara and Justin Nystad and the first one was 118 foot Millennium called ARTHUR’S WAY. And right after that actually right before that they closed 102 foot John Banneberg designed Oceanfast called HIGHLINE. Both of those were located right here in South Florida. We sold a brand new Pershing 9X and by Thom Conboy and Gary Hardcastle. That was a great one. And Mike Burke closed on 82 Viking called COOKIE MONSTER. Pierre, one of our brokers at our Monaco office closed on 85 Arcadia, the name of that but was BOOMSHAKALAKA, also Ben Farnborough’s nickname in high school. I want to celebrate my little brother Eddie who closed on a very good looking 55 Galeon 2019 here locally in South Florida.

Now what we’re going to do in the coming months. The first thing that we’re going to be doing actually is going to be happening in the next few days, we’re announcing our summer rendezvous. The first one is going to be happening on the West Coast of the U. S. We’re going to be heading Catalina Island again. The dates on that are July 27th through the 30th. And then the following month in August 18th to 21st, we’re going to be revisiting Bimini. So more details on those soon. The team, people right over here behind this wall are busy preparing for all the details of the trip.

Also Monaco Grand Prix, we have an office in Monaco, does a balcony overlooks the most famous race in the world, the Monaco Grand Prix. When I say overlooks, I think has one of the best vantage points. In Monaco overlooks the start-finish line along with other aspects of the track. I’m very excited about that. Some very important clients and employees are going to be there watching the race.

And also very importantly we’re going to be working like crazy to market some new listings that we got. I’m going to highlight a few of those. And when I say market by the way if you look behind me this happened a few weeks ago we got this thing. Looks like a shiny little plaque but it was an acknowledgement from YouTube, that’s congratulations on 100K subscribers. I guess it was a supply side issue but that was about a year ago we had 100K. Right now for the good people on the video team, when I say good people I’m talking about really three people helped us get there and it really really significant way. The first one was Shawn Wilkes, then Ryan Alexander who is still creating I think the best walkthrough videos in the industry. Maybe second best as the guy filming us Alex Howell. And the three of them really got us there. And we have 266,220 as of like 10 minutes ago, subscribers and I hear chatter sometimes about some of the other firm saying we’re the best with the leaders in social media, were the leaders in video marketing, I just wanted to mention, no you’re not. We are.

So specifically, I just did the numbers on this, I was curious, the MarineMax group of companies on the super yacht side, they 104,000 subscribers right now, and N&J has 5,700 subscribers. Fraser is doing good, 56,000. When you combine the entire group together, you add them up there are about 165,000 – 166,000 still 100,000 short of us. So take that Marine Max. Alex Howell, thank you; Ryan, thank you. Also want to thank Landen who oversees all over social media efforts. It’s really awesome, we have good people working together just to make good things happen. So on the video front, social media front, we are very very hard to get our listings a lot of attention, a lot of eyeballs.

I’m going to be mentioning a few of the listings that are new to us that we’re going to be marketing this month. First on that list I would say the biggest on that list is 128 foot Ferretti, listed by Kurt Bosshardt, the name of that boat is AGATHA. We also have MARBELLA, it’s 108 foot Monte Fino. Motoryacht out listed by Alex Taldykin in California. And then we have an 85 JFA called NDSE which might be one of the coolest Catamarans built. That boat is actually up in Charleston, David Johnson is selling her. And then 84 foot Sunseeker listed by Bobby Giancola called MOON DOG which was also I think Ben Farnborough’s other nickname in High School.

84 Sunseeker [MOON DOG]

Now on the who we are front, Who We Are? When I post up my personal Facebook, I was saying another one for the good guys, I think we are. I really believe that the team here just full of and bursting at the seams with really really good people. And my favorite thing about really good people is when they’re nice, no matter what. It is easy to be nice when you’re in a good mood or you had your first sip of coffee, you’re like aw I want to be nice. The hard part is to be nice all the time, even when you’re in a bad mood, even when people treat your poorly, even when you’re just having one of those terrible days and I believe the person that is just the nicest. First of all, Farnborough, it’s not you. Alex G. Clarke, it’s not you. David Johnson, it’s not you. Dean Pagne, really nice guy, it’s not you. And all those guys that I just mentioned are really nice but none of them are nicer and kinder than Jill Maderia who leads our Crew Division. She’s really effective at what she does and she does things in a way that makes people smile, no matter what. So thank you Jill. She represents so much of what I love about the people that work here Denison Yachting and we’re lucky to have her. And yeah, that’s it.

That’s May 2022. Hope you guys have an awesome week and an awesome month. We will see you really really really soon. Bye.
