Bahamas Charter Yacht Show 2023 Highlights: The Charter Team Tells All

Sarah Nadler | March 6, 2023

Explore some of the best moments at this year’s Bahamas Charter Yacht Show.

The Denison charter team got the chance to show off some of our most impressive yacht charters at the 2023 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show last week in Nassau, Bahamas. Discover below some of the highlights of the show, direct from our charter team.

Denison Featured Charters

At the Bahamas Charter Show, Denison had three charter yachts on display: 131′ Sunseeker ACACIA, 114′ Hargrave BRANDI WINE, and 100′ Hatteras MAGNUM RIDE. Charter brokers Rose Jolis, Kristina Gagliardi, Nikola Sferle, and Jennifer Saia were present at the show, as well as members of charter management, including Nick Duke, Madeline Mancini, and Allison Cecilio.

“The show overall was a win!” Rose Jolis lauded, “There were about 40 boats in the show and I actually extended my trip by one day to make sure and see the ones that I needed for my client base. The Denison boats were really warm and welcoming.” Below, discover more about each of the featured charters Denison had on display.

ACACIA | 131′ Sunseeker

There are many reasons to charter ACACIA, including her beautiful design, impressive sky deck, and endless water sports options.

ACACIA is a 40m Sunseeker motor yacht with a tri-deck and five-cabin configuration. The full-beam primary suite on the main deck features his & hers sinks and a walk-in shower. The remaining four en-suite guest cabins are on the lower deck: two VIP suites and two twin cabins (each twin cabin can be converted to a double and have an additional Pullman berth).

BRANDI WINE | 114′ Hargrave

BRANDI WINE is an experienced charter yacht, having crossed over the Atlantic and to Alaska. She provides a luxury experience, where personal comfort is the top priority. Her zero-speed stabilizers ensure smooth cruising on all waters, and her versatile cabin configuration allows you to customize your sleeping arrangements based on who you’re traveling with such as family, friends, or couples. BRANDI WINE is equipped for a week of fun in New England, whether you reel in your next big catch on the 27-foot tender or soak in the jacuzzi on the flybridge.

During the Bahamas show, BRANDI WINE signed up to be a spotter for the International Seakeepers society. Nikola Sferle shared: “Becoming a part of the SeaBed2030 mission, they will use their extensive traveling of Bahamian waters to collect bathymetric data, contributing to the overall goal of ‘mapping out 100% of the Ocean Floor by the end of the decade.’ This information can help identify uncharted features such as seamounts and canyons, verify charted information, and help fill the spaces on charts where no data exists.”

MAGNUM RIDE | 100′ Hatteras

MAGNUM RIDE, a 100-foot Hatteras, has a number of features that make it the perfect yacht charter in New England. This yacht can accommodate eight guests in four comfortable cabins. There is a spacious exterior deck space, which allows for 180-degree views of the sunset in Nantucket, for one. The sun deck is a great spot to catch some rays in any coastal town. A towed tender can bring you ashore to roam around town and make some special summer memories.

Events at the Show

There were many interesting and entertaining events for attendees of the Bahamas Charter Yacht Show, including giveaways and meals aboard some of the boats. A highlight mentioned by many members of the team was the beautiful breakfast aboard ACACIA. Denison broker Rose Jolis raved: “The breakfast on board ACACIA was wonderful. It was great to meet the Captain, Joe, and learn more about his ideas for itineraries. He is born in the Bahamas and has spent a considerable time in the Abacos. He really knows the nuances of how to cruise the more off-the-beaten-path areas. I personally prefer my guests to move away from the milk run in the Exumas and experience more remote areas where there are less yachts and other tourists. The Captain and crew are super active and great for a water sports group. The chef, Phil produced a magnificent breakfast for us.”

Kristina Gagliardi had much to share about the show overall and all the festivities. “The show was great! They had events set up for us every evening. One was a cocktail mixer and they had Junkanoo dancers and flame throwers. The next night was a cocktail party at The Graycliff and they had lots of food and drinks and also had vendors set up with cigar rolling and gifts for purchase. The next night was a cocktail party sponsored by NEXUS-Bahamar. It was in a private area reserved for Nexus clients. They also had very informative informational sessions in the mornings with breakfast set up. One morning they had IYBA & AMB and they chatted about the different locations and things that the different spots in the Bahamas had to offer. Another was all about the National Park Systems of the Bahamas, which was very informative. They went over their rules and regulations, how they help to preserve the pristine ecosystems in the area (and how to get involved), and pricing for memberships and beach set-ups, et cetera.”

“I had three lunches and a breakfast on board three yachts. One of them was KEMOSABE. I was extremely impressed by her selection of water toys and crew.  The captain was super organized, caring, and easygoing. Her chef was incredible and although she is not full-time they try and use her for every charter they can (and if they cannot she has chefs who work below).”

“I also had a wonderful breakfast on BLUE GRYPHON; I really loved this catamaran. The whole crew was really fun, easygoing, and knowledgeable.  The chef was awesome and prepared a bunch of different passable breakfast options. They did a nice job with the tablescape and had a guitarist. I really enjoyed it.”

With so many amazing events and meals on and off the boats, it is no wonder that the 2023 Bahamas Charter Yacht Show was such a success.
