Built in 1993 by Kanelos Shipyard in Greece, the 38m/123ft sailing yacht ALTHEA was refitted in 2020
The comparatively modern interior decoration demonstrates the traditional interpretations of the Andrew Winch’s design.
Super Yacht ALTHEA can accommodate up to 11 guests in 5 cabins and 5 crew members.
She is a modern twin mast schooner motor sailor and reaches the high speed of 12 knots.

Captain George is a graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy and holds a Captain
Class B’ Diploma.
He began his career on board commercial vessels traveling around the world and for the past 20 years he has served on board professional and private yachts. He has all the necessary updated qualifications & certificates in Fire Fighting and First Aid, GMDSS, Personal Safety and Ship Security.
He is gentle, kind and eager to please his guests, always ensuring their safety and comfort. He has long experience on Motor Sailers and has been onboard M/S ALTHEA as Captain from the beginning of 2016.
Captain George is married with one child. In his spare time he enjoys studying history
and jogging.

Samir is the man who keeps Althea going for the last 20 years.
After studying Engineering in Russia he worked on Greek ocean going vessels and in different companies in Canada until 2000. Since then he has been caring for Althea as an engineer and assistant to the Captain. Samir’s calm personality often hides a delicate sense of humour which delights all those who discover him.
When he is not on board, Samir has many interests: fishing, travelling, reading, design, tennis and chess.

It is thanks to the year round efforts of Fred that Althea’s deck is always in pristine condition.
Fred who is sportsman and a sailor does a lot more than maintenance. He takes care of water sports and his welcoming personality puts his guests at ease and helps them enjoy all the sport activities of their cruise. Fred who has always worked on sailboats has been with Althea for the last 16 years.
He is married with 2 children and loves water sports and running.

Sail and Work Experience
Nikolaos is a highly experienced chef with a strong background in luxury hospitality and fine dining. Before entering the yachting industry, he spent over a decade as head chef in high-end hotels and restaurants across Greece and Europe, managing kitchens, developing menus, and leading culinary teams. His culinary background is rooted in both classic and creative Mediterranean cuisine, and he brings this depth of knowledge to his yacht roles. His transition to yachting included personal chef work aboard a 52m yacht and a successful season aboard AURORA, where he adapted his skills to the demands of life at sea while maintaining his high standards.
Job Description
Nikolaos is responsible for the planning and execution of all meals on board, tailored to guest preferences and dietary needs. He manages provisioning, ensures strict hygiene standards, and presents meals with creativity and elegance. He coordinates closely with the stewardess and captain to deliver a seamless dining experience, both for daily service and special occasions.
Licences and Qualifications
• Degree in Culinary Arts – OTEK, Corfu
• HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems seminar
• Seminars in molecular gastronomy, sushi & Asian fusion, and cold kitchen techniques
• Multiple awards from national and international culinary competitions
• Member of the Hellenic Chef's Association and Junior Chef Club of Corfu

Sail and Work Experience
Adriana has already worked as a stewardess aboard ALTHEA for several charter seasons, bringing a calm, professional presence to the interior. With a background in hospitality, including roles at the French Embassy in Athens and a boutique hotel, she offers a strong foundation in guest service and presentation. Her ability to adapt quickly and maintain high standards has made her a valuable part of the team.
Job Description
Adriana is responsible for the full interior of the yacht, including housekeeping, laundry, provisioning, and guest service. She ensures that guest areas are kept to the highest standards and that meals and drinks are presented and served with care. She works closely with the captain to maintain a seamless and enjoyable guest experience throughout the charter.

• Silver Service Certificate of Achievement for Yacht Steward/ess – AST Studies
• Seaman’s Book
• Basic Rescue and Firefighting Training (Α-VI/1-1 up to VI/1-4)

Sail and Work Experience
Nikolaos is beginning his career in yachting with a solid foundation in hospitality, guest-facing roles, and maritime exposure. He has worked in high-end service environments and as a receptionist at a major holiday park. His previous role in the accounting department of Aegean Marine Petroleum provided insight into the maritime industry, while his background in the Greek special forces, where he served as a paratrooper instructor, reflects a high level of discipline, physical capability, and teamwork under pressure.
Job Description
Nikolaos supports both deck and interior operations, assisting with guest service, mooring, water sports, general maintenance, and cleanliness of the vessel. He works closely with the deck team and stewardess to ensure the smooth daily operation of the yacht and a welcoming environment for guests.
