Two Staterooms * Great Fuel Economy * Great Loop Potential
The Power Boat Guide says "The Mainship 350 Trawler (called the Mainship 390 in 1999–2005) is a stylish, moderately priced coastal cruiser with classic trawler lines and a good turn of speed. Unlike a true trawler with a full-displacement hull, the 350/390 is built on a faster modified-V hull with flat aft sections and a shallow, full-length keel. She’s a very roomy boat inside thanks to her wide 14-foot, 2-inch beam, and the floorplan manages to include double berths in both staterooms as well as a separate stall shower in the head. (Note that the guest stateroom is partially tucked beneath the galley.) Visibility from the lower helm is excellent, and a deck door provides easy access to the foredeck. Aft, a sliding glass door opens to the covered cockpit where a series of molded steps (instead of a ladder) ascends to the extended fly bridge. Additional features include deep, well-protected side decks, an integral swim platform, transom door, a full teak interior, and a radar/antenna mast."
This Mainship 350 has travelled extensively from Florida to Canada and New York to Maine, and is well equipped for safe and reliable coastal cruising. She has been in a Great Lakes freshwater environment since her current owners acquired her in 2022. Bridge canvas and upholstery are in excellent condition, the interior is exceptionally clean and well appointed, and the list of updated and upgraded items shows the level of care this boat has enjoyed over the years, With a single diesel engine and an estimated fuel burn of 2.7 - 4.0 US gallons per hour at a cruising speed of 8 - 10 knots, "Just Breathe" ranks right up there among the most fuel efficient trawlers on the water at approximately 2.5 - 3.0 MPG. Engine hours are getting up there for sure, but it's a good indication of the level of care this boat has received. When properly maintained and not overworked for extended periods, the Caterpillar 3116 can deliver as much as 10,000 hours of service, and many have gone well past that mark.
Come have a look for yourself and you'll see what we mean. Maybe it's time to scratch that persistent Great Loop itch! If you are looking for a balance of comfort, range and economy, this Mainship 350 is a strong contender.
