Tideline Boats are built for the days most people stay at the dock. Made in the USA on the coast of North Carolina, every Tideline is designed for sporty seas and serious anglers who refuse to compromise on ride, range, or reliability. Known by many as the “best riding boat on the water,” Tideline blends hardcore fishability with the kind of confidence that comes from owning a boat purpose-built for real-world conditions.
Each hull is crafted by experienced American boatbuilders who fish, run, and understand these waters. From the first layer of composite to the final rigging detail, Tideline boats are engineered to be tougher than the seas they fish, with performance that truly shines when the weather turns and the ocean stands up.

1. The primary advantage of a stepped hull is that when the boat is going over 35 MPH or so, its going to be more fuel efficient than a similar weighted, similar powered, non-stepped hull. The stepped hull is also going to have a faster top end speed. The con’s with a stepped hull is that you’re going to be constantly fighting the throttle as you go over waves, particularly in rough seas. In calm seas, it’s not as big of an issue. In bigger seas, stepped hulls don’t plane as easily and require faster speeds in order to get on plane. If the seas are big enough to where you can’t run 30+ MPH in the ocean, the stepped hull is going to be quirky and have a difficult time staying on plane.
2. There is absolutely no bow steer in any sea conditions or at any sea angle on our boats. This can be a problem for a lot of the other big cats. Our boat is very user friendly with no handling quirks whatsoever. Our boat rides the same and handles the same at 18 mph as it does at 60 mph. The stepped hull cats are going to ride differently at 18mph vs 35mph vs 60mph and the trim angles will need to be adjusted for different speeds.
3. For the two reasons mentioned above, you can put our boat on autopilot in virtually any sea state and the boat is going to ride like a dream. This is not the case with all other big cat hulls.
4. Lastly, with non-stepped hulls, you can mount the transducers at the very back of the boat whereas with the stepped hulls, the transducers are typically mounted in front of the step. The transducers mounted as far back as possible will read bottom at speed and in different sea states / rough sea states better than a transducer that is mounted forward.
