This is a Truly Spectacular Opportunity!....
The current owners are long-time cruisers with a resumé that includes cruising the Chesapeake Bay, the Bahamas, the FL Keys, Cuba and the ICW from Baltimore to Florida. Their onboard cruising experience over the last 16 years led them to this Mariner Orient, the perfect combination of comfort, efficiency and value. They purchased her in late 2023 and set out to equip and update her into the ideal cruising trawler. Drawing from their evolved knowledge and understanding of life on the water, they spared little ($50K) in updating and upgrading in preparation for their next adventure. A couple of years later they are now realizing that they have fully enjoyed their cruising lifestyle and are ready to move into the next phase of their life. They love the boat and truly believe it is perfectly suited for the next owners to step onboard and GO!.....Their change of plans is your gain!
This Pampered Example has all maintenance up to date and will convey with full sets of fenders, lines, USCG safety package.....Even Binoculars & Charts! She Needs Nothing!.....

The 2-stateroom 1-head galley-up floorplan sleeps (4) in the two private staterooms. The vessel is easily boarded into the covered aft cockpit via the large aft swim/boarding platform and in through a mid-ship transom gate. From the cockpit, access to the foredeck is made easy and safe with covered sidewalks on either side of the vessel. A large centerline sliding door provides entry into the main cabin and a combination of molded-in steps and a ladder situated to port leads up to the flying bridge. The extended flying bridge overhangs the aft cockpit and features a deck hatch to cover the stairs leading down. One instantly notices the generous space with plenty of room for added guest seating. The centerline helm is forward and offers full navigation electronics and great visibility. The helm also has a pedestal bucket captain's seat with companion seats on either side. The 11' RIB dinghy and 20/hp outboard are hauled and stored on the flying bridge with help from a (new 2024) Atkins & Hoyt electric davit with remote control. Entering the salon from the cockpit one immediately notices the bright natural light and water vistas thanks to 360 degree windows all around. An entertainment center with storage is aft and to port with an L-shaped settee stretching forward along the port side with storage beneath. Across to starboard and aft is a port-facing sofa with storage beneath and refrigeration forward. The salon also features a folding leaf table and generous engine room access via removable deck hatches. The practical galley-up arrangement positions the galley forward and to the port side of the cabin. The lower helm station with sliding side access door is forward and to starboard and offers great visibility. Moving forward and down along the centerline one finds the guest stateroom featuring over/under bunk beds to port with the very accommodating head compartment across to starboard with separate shower stall. The master stateroom is situated completely forward in the vessel and offers a queen-size centerline island berth.
The Mariner Orient 40 is a pretty boat with a proportionate profile and beautifully classic lines. She is built with a shallow, full-length keel and shoe-style rudder protecting the running gear. The interior sole is teak & holly throughout with neutral color accents and earth tone window coverings. The exterior hull color is white gelcoat with a blue boot stripe, navy blue canvas and black anti-fouling bottom paint. It should be noted that the Mariner 40 is easy to live with having just enough exterior teak, easy hose-off outdoor areas and easily managed interior surfaces. Additionally, she has generous engine servicing space, single engine simplicity and is very cost effective to maintain and operate.

Boarding the vessel is made safe and easy by way of a large aft swim/boarding platform. The aft platform offers a flip-down stainless steel swim ladder, non-skid decking, and a centerline transom door leading into the cockpit. The cockpit itself is arranged with covered sidewalks on either side for foredeck access, a large sliding cabin access door, and a combination staircase/ladder on the port side leading up to the flying bridge with storage. The aft cockpit is self-bailing and also features overhead cover, a benefit of the extended flying bridge's overhang. An in-deck lazarette storage compartment lessens the amount of complication in the engine compartment. Other cockpit features include:
Deep, covered side walks safely lead from the cockpit to the foredeck on either side of the vessel. These sidewalks feature non-skid decking and are self-bailing. A side access cabin door opens from the lower helm station to the starboard sidewalk for quick access during docking maneuvers. The foredeck itself is configured with a raised cabin-top inboard and walkway around. Foredeck features include:
A combination staircase/ladder on the port side of the cockpit ascends 7-steps up through a deck hatch to the extended flying bridge. This stairwell features non-skid decking, courtesy lighting, a closing deck hatch and convenient handrails. The flybridge itself is arranged with a centerline-forward helm station with a Todd adjustable/swiveling captain's pedestal bucket seat. An additional Todd companion seat to port and storage boxes on either side completes the fixed bridge seating. A canvas Bimini top provides shade and a hinged electronics/radar mast drops for lower bridge clearance. From here, the bridge deck continues aft as a "sundeck" and extends over the cockpit. This functional design feature provides plenty of additional space which remains open for storage or lounging/sunbathing. An Atkins & Hoyle crane and electric remote controlled winch were added in 2024 to haul & launch the 11' RIB dinghy and 20/hp outboard. This dinghy/davit arrangement is on the starboard side of the upper sundeck. (2) 200-watt solar panels (new 2025) are kept on the port side. Additional highlights of the flying bridge include:
The upper helm station is situated completely forward on the bridge deck and ideally positioned along the centerline. This command station features a Todd adjustable pedestal bucket seat and the helm console has easy service access. Other features include:
The salon is entered through a sliding glass door from the cockpit. This bright and airy cabin features wrap-around windows and benefits greatly from the yacht's wide 13' beam. The power distribution panel is conveniently located between the salon and galley on the port side. Very generous engine room access is provided by multiple removable deck hatches in the salon sole. The "up" galley is open to the salon and located forward and to port with the lower helm station and deck-access door situated completely forward and to starboard. A centerline companionway leads down 3-steps and forward to the staterooms and head compartment. The interior is beautifully decorated in neutral, earth-tone colors with full high gloss teak & holly flooring. Additional details include:
