Main sheet and jib sheets all within reach of the helm. With a ballast to displacement ratio of 50% this boat is stiff in a breeze making it ideal for weekends at the islands or long distance cruising. Down below she has all the amenities of a much larger yacht including a private guest cabin forward with en suite head and a master cabin aft with a centerline queen berth and attached head and shower. Classic warmth and luxury of a teak wood interior accented with upholstered cushions throughout.
Many aspect of this yacht have been upgraded.
The two stateroom accommodation plan includes a spacious private aft Master Stateroom with ensuite head, a pullman-style double Guest Stateroom forward with ensuite head, a comfortable Main Salon for entertaining, a starboard settee that converts to a pilot berth with lee cloth or pull out double berth, a large and well-appointed Galley for the chef, and a dedicated Navigation Station with book shelves and electronics panel. The open Hylas 45.5 floor plan allows for easy circulation and unsurpassed engine room access. Constructed by Queen Long craftsmen, the interior woodwork has attractive joinery underscored by a glowing traditional teak and holly floor throughout.
The main salon amidships has a U-shaped settee to port and a teak dining table. A full straight settee to starboard can serve as a pilot berth or pull inboard to create a double bed. Storage compartments under, above, and outboard of the settee backrests include two lockers, two cupboards, and a shelf between. Additional storage is located underneath floorboards.
The walk through passageway galley to starboard connects the salon to the Master Stateroom and has excellent counter space and storage. The fore and aft layout is the preferred arrangement for safety and convenience in offshore and live aboard conditions. Refrigerator and separate freezers are accessible through front and countertop doors and stay clean with an electric drain pump. Double centerline sinks draw water from storage tanks or the sea. The chef will appreciate the long outboard counter, the seven above counter storage lockers, six bin compartments, two drawers and built-in knife block. Additional storage is found beneath the galley floorboards.
The roomy master suite aft features a centerline queen berth, hanging locker, set of three drawers, eight storage lockers, mirrored built in vanity with drawer, and bookshelves port and starboard. A full length mirror is mounted on the door of the linen closet.
The sink with large Corian countertop is separate from the head with shelf-seat for showering.
This is a full beam stateroom with double pullman style berth to port and built in settee to starboard. Storage includes space behind and beneath the settee, port and starboard bookshelves, four lockers, a hanging locker to starboard, three drawers and extra storage area below the berth and floorboards. Access to divided chain locker is forward of the berth.
There are two entry doors to the guest head. One opens into the salon and one opens ensuite into the forward guest stateroom.
A dedicated forward-facing navigation station to port contains a flush mounted instrument panel with 12-volt DC and 110-volt AC breaker panel. The portside passageway from the salon through the navigation station and master head leads to the master stateroom for ease of circulation. There is more storage below floorboards.

All through-bolted areas and the area around the mast are solid fiberglass. The hull is dark blue with a red boot stripe. Molded nonskid is on side decks and cabin top. There are teak handrails and a teak rub rail with stainless striker. For ventilation, the Hylas 45.5 has five stainless steel opening hatches (with drop-down screens), two dorades, and eight stainless steel opening port lights (with screens).
